BC

Anyone planning on getting on birth control after their baby? If so, what do you plan on taking? I was on the pill when I got pregnant so I'm scared to go back to that.

Re: BC

  • I was going to get my tubes tied but chickened out. DH will be getting a vasectomy since we are done.

  • I know that I cannot remember to take a pill every day. So I plan to get Mirena again. I had it for about 4 years and then I had it removed so that I could try to get pregnant. It is good for up to 5 years but you can have it removed at any time if you decide you want to have another child sooner.
  • I'll be getting an IUD as well
  • I was used nuva ring before and loved it. But I can't use that while breastfeeding. I will be getting Mirena and I am nervous about the procedure to get it. Any advice?
  • I had my first one put in during a surgery so having it put in the normal way is going to be new to me as well. But having it taken out last time was super easy and only hurt for a second so I'm hoping that having it put in will be about the same.
  • I had used implanon before I got pregnant and I loved it. I plan on using that again except I think it's called nexplanon now.
  • I'm back on the pill until DH gets in for his vasectomy. DD was number 3 for us and we are for sure done!
  • I'm between mirena and the mini pill. There are things that make me worry about both. With the mirena I've heard at least 3 stories from people I know where the iud gets "lost" or implanted in the uterus. That terrifies me. With the mini pill you have to take it at the exact same time every day. With a newborn I'm not so sure I'll be able to do that.
  • @pistachio&blush I had my mirena inserted today and it was not bad at all. Mild cramping but that was it. I did take an ibuprofen before hand because last week during my cervical check I had pain so my doctor recommended the Ibuprofen.

I am on Nuvaring. My dr said they have done several studies to prove it is safe as long as your supply is already established.

Lucky you ... My doctor did not approve it because I am breastfeeding.
