epidural

For those that have given birth and had an epidural, did you have any residual side effects after it was over and worn off? I had something similar to epidural on Tuesday during labor (can't remember name of it but it only lasts 2 hours and there isnt a catheter in your back but it numbed you just like and epidural). As of today I still have some numbness in my upper leg. I told my MW on Wednesday and she wasnt concerned. I plan on calling her again today. I do know that is the same area when during pregnancy I would hurt and a trip to the chiropractor helped.

Very strange! No, when I had my epidural with my first I had zero residual effects. I was up and walking around 2 hours later and always felt fine. I hope you feel back to normal soon!

  • My epi was great. I didn't feel them put the catheter in and I told them a pain level of 6 which allowed me to to still feel a little bit. I felt my contractions but they didn't hurt, and I felt the baby make her way down and out. Legs were tingly the whole time and epi wore off around 2 hours later and I took a shower. Would do it all the same in a heartbeat.
