Ankles have started swelling... Tips

anyone have some tips for ankle swelling? One ankle is terribly larger than the other.

  • Drink water, then drink some more.
    Try to stay off your feet, and put them up for at least an hour every day.

  • I wear thigh high compression stockings when I'm going to be on my feet a lot which seems to help. Drink plenty of fluids and elevate your feet as much as possible.
  • I forgot this earlier, but
    NO SALT!!!! Salt cause water retention, which is typically the cause of swelling.

    Compression socks. Salt should be to taste. It's an electrolyte and necessary so don't illiminate it

    - drink water
    - reduce salt intake
    - elevate

    And at this point you might want to put all of your shoes in storage except for flat slip-ons. :) i recommend TOMS and sandals.

    I have been putting 100% lemon juice in with my water...I read online it helps fight inflammation and seems to be helping so far

    I can't find my ankles now days. :( I prop my feet and try to reduce sodium. I wear sandals with a bit of a wedge because flats make my ankles worse and kills my back. I think it's just part of pregnancy. I only drink about 4 bottles of water a day so I could do better with that.

  • Trying to drink more water and adding lemon juice each time. I need to get some watermelon too. Sleeping with pillows under my feet which help but within hours I'm swollen again.
