Trying to Get Pregnant

If not implantation bleeding, then what?

I believe I've had implantation bleeding.. But google fails me. So I'm hoping some of you ladies can help.

I usually have a 30-31 day cycle except for my last cycle, which was 25 days long.  Very unusual for me, but I thought nothing of it, and assumed I would resume a cycle length of 30-31 days next round.  About the time I would have ovulated, should my cycle had been 30-31 days I had some very light some what mucus like spotting. It lasted for a few hours and has not returned.

Is there generally anything else that spotting of that nature could have been other than implantation bleeding? I haven't found any information on google that might indicate what it would be, and I have tested, but it came up negative. It may still be too early for me to test positive though.

Thanks in advance!

Spotting happens and implantation bleeding is rare. Please lurk and read the posts at the top of the board called guidelines and if you could tell a newbie anything.

    Married: July 2013

  • Spotting happens. Also, implantation bleeding doesn't occur (if it occurs at all) during ovulation. It'd be 7-10 DPO.
  • Spotting can be from ovulation, sex, implantation, the beginning of your period, cervical irritation or for no reason at all.  There's no way to know why you are spotting.

It is normal for your cycles to vary in length.  Just because you usually have 31 day cycles, does not mean they will always be so.

If you want to know what part of your cycle you are in, temping is the only way to know for sure.  Relying on your usual cycle length will tell you nothing.
    My TTC History:
    2009: missed miscarriage #1 at 9 weeks (trisomy 16)
    2010: Infertility
2011: Diagnosis and treatment (low sperm count, anastrozole for DH, clomid for me + IUI)
    2012: Baby #1
    2014: Baby #2
October 2015: missed miscarriage #2 at 11 weeks (trisomy 22)
    March 2016 BFP#5, due November 2016.

    My Charts since 2009

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who caught that what she is calling "implantation bleeding" occurred about the time she should be ovulating. Implantation doesn't occur until 7-10 DPO. You can't have implantation bleeding the day you o or even close to it. Educate yourself... PLEASE!

  • I forgot why I stopped coming around.  Yes, if you must know, I do think of myself as special.  Most of you must feel that way to have such negative responses as well,

And to the person who said that the implantation bleeding was happening around the time I was ovulating.. that's why I brought up my previous cycle length.  If I had miscalculated and it was way shorter of a cycle again then yes--it could have been implantation bleeding. And, I didn't say "OH YES! THIS IS FOR SURE IMPLANTATION BLEEDING" I asked, simply, if it isn't what could it possibly be related to because while I had googled, I hadn't found anything that seemed to connect the dots in my scenario.

But thank you all, you've taught me a valuable lesson in internet etiquette.
