  Is there a reason why they're inducing you? Just curious. I'm 40 weeks today and my doctor said they won't induce until the 26th.

  I was only 1 cm dilated with my first induction. They started me on cervadil the night before, started petocin in the morning, and I had the baby at 2 in the afternoon. I got an epidural some time in there too. My Dr said the second baby would come quicker, so I don't have to go in till the morning of this time.

  I had my third induced last year with one centimeter dilation. They did two rounds of cervadil, then Foley bulb and finally the dreaded pitocin. All this started at 8:30 one night and I finally had him just before 9 the next night.

  I was induced almost two weeks ago and was not dilated. They admitted me to antepartum and it took FOUR 12-hr rounds of cervidil to get me to 1cm. My OB then inserted the foley bulb and it worked like a charm! I was 3-4cm in an hour or two, then sent to L&D. Things went fast after that! Hopefully your cervix is more cooperative than mine was initially. If they offer the foley bulb, I highly recommend it!

  Good to hear mbt385! I am going to be induced using the foley bulb tomorrow evening. I heard mixed things about it. Trying to stay positive.

  I was induced with no dilation with both of my babies. The first one took 24 hours and the second took 19 hours.
  
  They gave me cervidil before putting me on pitocin 4 hours later. It was a long painful process until my epidural. My doc didn't want me to have the epidural too early because she thought it would slow things down. But as soon as I got it, my body relaxed and I went from 3-10cm in 2 hours.

  Can you request the foley bulb after a while if the cervadil isn't working? I know we're starting out with the cervadil.

  My doctor offered the foley bulb after three rounds of cervidil (knowing the forth round would be the last). She agreed to do whatever I felt comfortable with. I wish I had done it after round 3 instead of round 4!
