Pregnant after 35

Cute take home outfits

Anyone find any cute take home outfits for LO? DD came early and was too little to wear what I has planned and ended up in a sleeper, so I am a little obsessed with doing better for this one. I have seen a lot of gowns, but that isn't practical for the car seat. Having a hard time finding any "special" outfits that also look comfy not itchy for baby in newborn size.

Re: Cute take home outfits

  • I struggled with this and finally decided just to bring a couple cute newborn and 0-3 outfits. Weather here has gone from 80 to 55 from week to week. So I grabbed a cute short sleeved romper and a long sleeved sleeper. I was looking at a ton of super cute stuff on Etsy but finally decided not to buy anything. The hospital is literally 10 minutes from our house. I know we will just be going straight home so I didn't bother.

I did schedule a newborn photo shoot tho. That's my splurge. :).

I know it is so silly because we are the only ones who will see it except in photos. I think it is nesting crazies setting in or something.
  • I'm thinking about bringing home Chloe in the same outfit that I was brought home in.  My mom saved it after all these years.  It's a cute little purple dress.  It has bottoms, but they are kinda rubbery and big since they used cloth diapers back then.  Just gonna use a newer pair of bottoms.  Will also use the sweater and hat my grandmother crocheted for me.

@jerseygirl227 that is lovely! You'll have to get a shadow box and put photos of you and LO in it wearing the dress.
  • @jerseygirl227  That is so sweet. :)  I'm sure my mom has my take home outfit but I'm not sure where! I'm not sure she knows where.  lol  I do have a little t-shirt and shorts that my dad wore home from the hospital when he was a baby! I have it framed. I didn't want to ruin it. I don't have much from my grandmother on his side.. just sugar/creamer set and those clothes that used to be my dads.

  • I usually make something for my babies to wear home.  Usually a complete outfit with a matching bonnet or cap sometimes booties too.  Most of the time they are handsmocked.  I like a very classic "baby" look.  Like the smocked romper type things you see the Royal baby wearing.

Grabbing the first couple photos I could find this is my 6th child a boy in his romper getting ready to go home.  He had a cap and booties to match.
  • and here is my 5th
  • cneiding Ok.. it's official.  You are my hero.  lol  Not only are you pregnant with your EIGHTH child which I think is deserving of a medal in itself.. but you also smock your own coming home outfits.  You are officially a better woman than I.  lol  I think of you every time I start to complain too much about being pregnant with our third and I think.. seriously.. she is wonder woman.  I am feeling quite overwhelmed already dealing with 2 small kids at home, working full time, and being 37 weeks pregnant.  :)
