Oct 5th DD - feeling like I may give birth in Sept?

I don't know why... but for some reason I feel like my baby girl will be born in late Sept. Anyone else have the feeling that you're going to go into labor before your DD? Heck, maybe I wont. Again, I don't know why but I just keep having this feeling that I'll have her before October.

  • I'm opposite, actually, I feel like I'll either be RIGHT on my DD (Oct. 26th) or hold out for November.

I have the same date (October 26) and can swear I'll end up delivering the first week of November.
  • You might, but the best advice I've ever had about due dates is to look at them like the top of a hill, not the edge of a cliff.  I try not to get excited about going early because I will only be disappointed when it doesn't happen.  Sort of be prepared to go early, but not surprised when it happens later

  • I'm trying to mentally prepare for being late. Many of my friends had a feeling they were going to be early and were one or two weeks late. Their advice to me was to assume I'll be late and be pleasantly surprised if I'm on time/early!
  • Top of the hill! That's a good one! I'm fine with going past my DD. I always thought of it as an estimate. The baby will come when it's ready! When I had my son, he was 8 days before his DD. I prefer not to schedule delivery. I want the baby to come when she's ready. Though I know things come up. I'd prefer to go into labor naturally, whenever she's ready to make her appearance. O:)
  • This is the first time I feel I will actually deliver in the month I'm due! My DS was due in December and came November and my DD was due in September and came in August. This time I am due October 19 so unless I am drastically early it will be an October baby!
  • I'm due Oct 5 and have a feeling she is coming in September also.

I'm Oct 7 and I feel like I'd have a Nov baby if she wasn't forced out of me! In my family, babies don't leave willingly.

  • With my first I felt that way. I was so big by August I thought for sure we wouldn't make it passed September. I was way wrong. We were due October 16 and he didn't come until October 24th and that was after being induced in labor for 30 hours and ended up with a c-section!
  • I'm due Oct 5 too! Baby girl!! But I keep telling people I'm due in september.. because I'm convinced that's when she'll come! 20 something September.
  • I'm due Oct 6th and I'm hoping that baby will come on its due date simply because that's our 3 year anniversary. So I'm willing baby slightly to come that day lol. A mom can hope.
  • I'm also due October 5th. I told my boss I will work up until October 1st....as I fully expect to go late!

I'm due Oct 15th, but feel like I may go early.  DD was born at exactly 38 weeks, so I'm kind of hoping for the same for this one.
  • I have no thoughts on when I'll go.

But I was due October 4 and was born September 26!
  • I'm due the 5th too! I'm pretty sure she'll be late, and I hope she's not too early because I am a late September baby and I want my own birthday :)

I thought this with my first and boy was I wrong. First my due date was may 8th (which made sense to me) then they switched it to may 21st and he was born May 30th!!!!! I really thought if go the beginning of the month and I was very wrong!
Try to plan for late and you'll be happy if you're early.
I already know I'll be having this one in September to keep the babies size down this pregnancy. Not thrilled, but oh well! Due oct 9th.

I am due October 6. From what my doctor says it's pretty much a guarantee that we will be getting a September baby. My last baby was 10 pounds and 11 ounces and he came flying out with only 30 minutes of labor, we barely got to the hospital on time. so for those reasons it seems like they will induce me early. I also currently have major placenta previa, we are hoping and praying that the placenta will move up as the pregnancy continues but if it doesn't my doctor said they would do a c-section on the 37th week of pregnancy. I've never had a c-section and this is my 4th baby so I don't want to have one but obviously i have no other choice if tge placenta doesnt move.. So I can't see any way i will go until october.
  • Don't do that to yourself! Think later and be pleasantly surprised. The days feel so long near the end and every one i know who swore they'd go early went past their due dates and were so miserable. Science is in favor of most of us going just past our dates.

I'm really hoping for at least my estimated due date. I want am October baby, but who knows.
  • Statistically speaking, almost all FTMs will deliver between 40.5-42 weeks unless they are scheduled or induced. This is baby 3 for us and I'm hoping for 6 days overdue so that baby will come on my birthday.

  • I'm due October 6, but I think I may end up with a September baby. My son was born at 36w 5d due to pre-eclampsia, and my OB said that having pre-e with your first increases your chance of having it with subsequent pregnancies.

I would really like to try for a VBAC and go into labor spontaneously (I feel like I missed out on that part since I didn't labor at all with DS), however, I'll have to wait and see.

I think it would be cool if baby came on September 30, since that's the anniversary of my husband going to his forever home when he was adopted as baby. Or September 23, which would be the one-year anniversary or finding out for sure our angel baby had passed. The 18th is my birthday and while I don't mind sharing I'd rather spend the day eating cake and getting a pedicure . . .

On the other hand, given the fact that I ended up needing a D&C several weeks after my mmc was diagnosed, I wonder if my body even knows how to kick out a baby at the correct time. I think this kid could be hanging out till 42 weeks and then require a c-section.

I'm hoping for baby's health and my comfort that we stay as close to the EDD as possible.

  • I went into labor right at 38 weeks. I left my job at 36 weeks because I just had a feeling I wouldn't make it to my due date. I hear so many people say you always go late with your first but that's completely false lol

  • Good luck on all fronts @MamaOwl15 .

My dad's birthday is the 28th of September so that would be neat. I've only had one baby early and that was by one day and of course i was totally unprepared!
  • My DD was born at 37.4 weeks and my DS at 38.5 weeks. It was a pretty hard mental game to go past when she was born when I was pregnant with him (even though I was early). And sadly I already have the thought in my head that I won't go past 39 with this one. Could be rough at the end!!

Statistically speaking you are the weirdo.lol. but most first time moms go past by up to a week as an average, when allowed.
