Mexican /Latina moms :registry

so I know that we aren't really big on registrys should I do one anyway? Most of the people attending the baby shower are family since me and my hubb don't really have close friends so i don't want to waste time if no one is going to even know how to work it suggestions?

    My fiancé is Mexican. One of his cousins bought us an item off of the registry. Nobody from his family came to my shower, but at least one of his family members got us something.
    Only the older people in my family even asked about my registry, let alone bought from it... Just depends on the person I think.

    This exactly. With baby #3 I don't expect anyone to use our registry but we want the discount!

    I'm Mexican and always buy off the registry and with my first all of my family did the same. Why wouldn't Mexicans buy off the registry? I think it's up to the person not the race.

    I don't think they were referring to race just how people have used to do things. For example my boyfriend is African and I don't mean African Aamerican but African, so when he or his friends are going to birthday party nobody is bringing a gift and nobody is expecting gifts. It's just the way things happen over there.

    I'm Mexican too (living in Mexico) and I think 50% of people get you stuff from your registry here, but it doesn't seem to be as popular as in the USA. I still registered everything I'm getting and that I'm not expecting for anyone else to give me, like the rocking chair, lamps, etc. everything over $135 because the lady told me that if they run out of it at the store they're the ones in charge of finding it even if they're out of stock in every store, so is nice to know that I'll be able to go online the last couple of weeks and just buy whatever's left on my list and just wait for it to arrive, because it has already been picked.

    I think you should just for other people who may not be able to make it to your shower. Or your co workers :) plus you get 10 % for completing buying the items left.

    I think you should, it doesn't hurt. To be honest, I already had my baby shower and NOONE used my
    Registry haha by it was ok because we used it as a guide and as a organizer of what else we needed :) it can be useful for more then just a baby shower and helping people know what you want, but for you guys as well. :D
