Hey everyone! I'm a FTM in Denver and was wondering if you all have any recommendations about where to deliver? I am thinking St Joe's downtown but I'm not sure. Thanks ladies!
I delivered my first at Avista Adventist in Lafayette and they were fantastic. It was 10 years ago, but I doubt much has changed.
I'll be delivering this one at Littleton Adventist (in Littleton...obviously.)
My cousin delivered at Swedish and loved it.
Honestly, I don't know that you can go wrong on this one - we are lucky to have a lot of great hospitals in the area and none are far from a Children's location if anything goes wrong.
Where are you located? I feel that being close-ish to your hospital matters. Especially if you need to get there during rush hour.
I have no input of hospitals in Denver. I just wanted to say "Hello!" I delievered at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette. It was a wonderful experience. But it's quite a drive from Denver. Where does your OB deliever at? Mine only deliever at Good Samaritan.
I was delivered at Rose Medical in Denver 26 years ago lol. My mom says nothing but good things but again that was 26 years ago. We moved out of the area so I'm not up to date on the hospitals in the area anymore but you should talk to your doctor also. My doctor only delivers at 2 of the 4 hospitals in our area so that may cut down your options and make your decision a bit easier. Once you know where your doctor delivers, most hospital I know offer tours of the L&D area so you can get a feel for the place, that may help also.
editted to add: I personally made sure my hospital had a NICU just in case (almost all the babies in my family have ended up there so it was important to me)
I'm going to the Mountain Midwifery Center next to Swedish in Englewood and know several people who've had good experiences there (only helpful if you are interested in a birthing center). I also know a lot of women who have delivered at Swedish and at Rose and they have all been really happy. I don't have any knowledge or information about St. Joe's for maternity issues, but they do really well in other areas of practice. Of course it all really comes down to where you live and where your doctor delivers...

I'll be having my first baby at North Suburban but I do all of my appointments through a midwife and will be delivering with her as well at The Womens Health Group in Thornton. I absolutely love them so far, they've been a lot of help! My best friend had her son there and after all the trouble she went through to choose the perfect place for her baby I had to do no work:) goodluck!
My OBGYN is Rocky Mountain OBGYN and their practice is located within the Rose Medical Center "area" and they deliver their babies at Rose. I have had 3 girlfriends deliver at Rose in the past 6 months and have absolutely loved it. I have heard nothing but good things about their staff and my same doc from Rocky Moutain just runs next door to deliver when I'm ready! Good luck!
I am a Colorado mama, but I live in Centennial and will be delivering at sky ridge. I had my first baby there and it was an awesome experience. Good luck in your search!
I am a first time mom - we are having a baby boy the end of September :-) I am hopefully going to be delivering at Mountain midwifery center! I just love all of their research and baby Mommy bonding practices following the birth. I just had a close friend of mine give birth to her daughter of 33 weeks at St Joes downtown and she has been very happy with the NICU - a nurse or two. I have also heard good things about Rose Medical Center. my husband has worked in all of the hospitals and says the hospital in Castle Rock actually has the best food of them all.
