3rd Trimester

due date issues

I went for my first ultrasound at what the er scan said was 7 weeks 6 days on thanksgiving, due July 12. I felt like it was wrong based on my lmp I would be due around the first week of july or end of june. I went for my NT scan at what was supposed to be 13w5days and tech said I was measuring 11 days ahead, which would bring me closer to my lmp date Due july 3rd. My lmp was September 22, but I could've ovulated later to get the July 3rd date as I was just becoming regular over the past few months. Since I was measuring ahead we couldn't do the NT scan. OB office changed date and my fundal height measurements have been on target with new due date. I can't seem to find anyone else in the same situation. Its important to me because I'm having a c section at 36 weeks Due to previa.

Re: due date issues

  • I'm having somewhat the same issue. By doctor gave me a due date of July 21st. However, at my last appt on May 7th (29w+2d), and I was measuring 34 weeks. I go in a week and a half tobgrt an ultrasound, but my measurements are matching perfectly to my period in September (6th) I also have felt since about 20 weeks- that my die date is wrong. I feel like I'm getting to the end of my pregnancy. I have 1 child already and I remember the exhausting body and ridiculously sore hips close to delivery.

  • People I talk to are always telling me to go by the first ultrasound but in our case apparently it's not right. I have read several cases where people measure ahead by more than 7 days. When it comes down to it our instinct really out rules technology that can be Wrong. I find it funny that my second us was much much closer to my lmp. I don't have gestational diabetes. My family and my husband's family create small babies. I myself was only 5lbs 14 oz. Your dates are really far off. I really hope they figure it out. You know your body better than an u/s machine. My mom kept telling me I was further along and she was right. It wouldn't be anything if it didn't match lmp or was less than 5 days. In our case it's a big difference.
  • Ultrasounds between 12 and 14 weeks are the most accurate for dating purposes. Since your second scan was closer to that timeframe and also brought you closer to your LMP date I would go with that.
