Boob question...

Do your boobs always get significantly bigger when preg/breast feeding? Mine are already swollen, easily half a cup size, I'm allreadly an e, and I have a relatively small frame... So I'm crossing my fingers they don't get too much bigger!! No clothes fit me as it is, and they give me a sore back... Lol, I know that this wouldn't be an issue for some, but for me, the thought of them getting bigger is horrible!!

Re: Boob question...

  • That's honestly one of my biggest fears in this whole adventure. I'm in the same boat as you cup wise. I've heard everything from them not growing much to going up 2-3 cups! I know it's the progesterone which makes the swelling start, but that's about the extent of what I know

  • With my first pregnancy i went from a size a to a D.. they finally settled back to a C. Idk if its normal but or because i started out much smaller!
  • I already went up a cup size and I'm fearful that they are not stopping at a D....
  • I went up at least a cup size with my first. It was probably the worst part of the whole pregnancy for me. They felt so big and heavy.

This time, I can tell they've already grown about 1/2 a cup and the heavy feeling is back.

For me they went back to normal after. My old bras fit again. I know some women say they never go back to normal.
  • My boobs did not get any bigger last pregnancy. I am still breastfeeding my almost 2yr old and my boobs are still a B. I was actually hoping they would get a little bigger but mine never changed. They may have been a little bigger when my milk first came in and a few times I was engorged but I never had to buy bigger bras.
  • I haven't noticed that my boobs have gotten any bigger... but DH has certainly noticed. He stares at them constantly. I have fairly small boobs to begin with, so for me, it's kinda nice.

  • Your breasts will get bigger as your milk ducts swell, and then they will increase again when your milk actually comes in. As for afterwards, everyone is different. Some people shrink back down to their pre baby size or smaller, some people stay huge. There is no way of knowing what will happen until it does.

  • With my first, by the third trimester,I was a D (originally an A).  Once my milk came it they got even larger, but probably went back to a D after my milk regulated.  Now that I am done breastfeeding they are back to a larger A, but they have started lactating again, which cued me in on possibly being pregnant.

Okay. I'm somewhat relived to hear there is a change they maynot get permantly bigger ;)
  • I'm already a 34D and am spilling out of all of my bras. It's not a cute look.
Once the baby is born they get even bigger as your milk comes in. They do go back to normal, kind of, eventually.
  • I'm on the smaller side at a B cup, so DH and I joke about how it'd be nice if mine got a little bigger. However, I really feel for you girls that have them big already. Hoping you all don't have back pain from them during pregnancy!

Sorry to tell you, not only did my cups size get bigger but when I got into the third trimester by ribs cage started to expand or something.
With my son growing he decided that my lungs were the perfect place to put the extra mass. I had to go up a band size because even at the loosest hook setting I was left with red marks around my back.

Just do your back a favor and buy new bras if it starts to hurt.
  • I'm right there with you! dd-e. I'm terrified. Mine are already most certainly bigger and swollen because it's so early. I plan on spending the bulk of my maternity clothes money on amazing bras. My boobs already make me uncomfortable. I'm going to do everything I can to make this easier on my body.

Last pregnancy I started out a small C, went up to a D, and then went to an F while nursing! After weaning, I dropped down to a D, where I've stayed since. So far I haven't grown much this pregnancy, though I feel a little fuller, which is actually kind of nice since the girls were looking a little deflated after last pregnancy + 16 months of nursing.

Last time my boobs went from a B pre-pregnancy, to a D during pregnancy, to a DD post-pregnancy. That's where I am now, but I am still nursing.
  • Ugh. Well my last two pregnancies I was 20 lbs heavier. So I lost a lotta boob with the weight. I think I was an F starting out my last two pregnancies, and got all the way up to a I when engorged and G/H when nursing. This time, I started out as a DDD, just within the last week I've gone up a cup size already. I will say that after nursing both times my breasts lost a lot of mass, and went back down size wise. However, they never went back to "normal". They feel like empty bags haha.
