@tileycyrus I just did a Google image search on mucus plug. Lesson learned? It's a good idea if you're looking for information. It's also good for those times when you want to throw up in your mouth a little bit.
I had mine come out last Sunday at a little over 36 weeks - was 3cm dilated and 50% effaced at my 36 week appointment a couple of days prior. At my 37 week appointment at the end of last week - no change. So for me, losing the mucus plug hasn't changed anything.
@marthaudani it's ridiculous that women are posting pictures of their mucus plug-a image search will confirm that for you, don't torment us with these things!! So gross.

There was plenty of warning in the title, if you do not want to see it then why did you click it?
@klaG101 look, lady. A lot of things we talk about here on the bump are not considered normal topics of conversation in social circles. That being said, is it EVER ok to show ANYONE something that has come out of your body? I should hope not.
She, and the countless others before her (yes, there have been many), could have spared us all by just doing a Google image search first. She would have quickly found that her wipings look to be a completely normal example of mucus plug.
Hell, she can post what she wants but she needs to expect that people will have a reaction and it may not be what she's specifically looking for. Don't make me the bad guy for thinking that this type of post is not only unnecessary but gross. I'm sure I'm not alone in this line of thought.
@marthaudani so we shouldn't show pics of our babies then? Because technically they came out of our body too and first pics they can look a little gross too. Sorry I had to be a smart ass there lol.
I understand what you mean and that a lot of women on here are getting annoyed with this type of thing but I'm a firm believer "if you don't like it don't look" she gave fair warning in the title. No one forced you to open it!
I'm more annoyed with the women posting on threads about how sick they are of seeing these posts over and over again than I am of the women who post the questions. You have to expect this to happen close to the end and with a lot of FTM out there. What else are we supposed to talk about?!?!? Lol we are all getting to the end and tensions and emotions are running high. Take a breath and don't feel like you have to click and post your snarky comment just because YOU don't want to see something that you were given a fair warning about!
I just had my 3rd baby and still don't know what exactly a bloody show looks like. Frankly, I was glad when someone posted a pic because I had been experiencing that for weeks. Anyway, my baby is here now and it's like a light switch has been flipped (bitchiness gone...finally!) so no more sweatin' the small stuff for this mama. As the PP wrote, there was a warning in the title. *shrugs*
I love seeing pictures of everyone's baby's hearing labor stories, MIL problems, even "Ex" vents! (Not so big onthe "do you like this name?" posts-so I don't read them) but when you are on the Internet posting pictures of bodily discharge when there is such a VAST library of info and pictures to compare yours to on the Internet it's annoying.
There are literally galleries of photos to compare yours too-
Yes, I know-the title in the post said TMI/photo, I'm not squirmish so I don't care about looking at nasty things-what annoys me is the totally lack of resourcefulness. Why ask a ton of strangers on the Internet when you can go and read/look at actual information.
I started a joke post about mucus plugs so for whatever reason I thought maybe op might have been playing off that so I clicked here thinking it might be a picture of a bathtub stopper or a cork, and I think some other ladies might've been in the same mindset.
@klaG101 we all should (hopefully) know the difference between posting a picture of a human being and a vaginal sneeze. If a baby comes out looking like a mucus plug I would hope you wouldn't post pics just for the sake of the poor kid's feelings.
Now that the pic is gone I can click and add my input... It is against TOU to post a pic of a pregnancy test so surely it is against TOU to post mucus plug pics shall I ask admin? And no we don't have to click but we picture it when we read the title and pregnant women shouldn't have to picture that kind of thing google it and gross yourselves out not us same results less angry commenters :-S
@klaG101 a baby and a mucus plug are hardly things to compare. It's not funny, even if it was meant as a joke.
Seriously, ladies. If you wouldn't walk up to a stranger in public and ask your question, ex. "Is this my mucus plug?", then why on Earth would you post a picture of your mucus plug in a public forum? We are essentially strangers and this board is hardly private. Please, let's exercise some discretion and post only after we've at least done some minimal research. If you have to ask someone then bag the boogery thing up and take it to your nurse and ask her. Or ask your mama.
I can't help being curious, part of me did think it was a joke. Forgive me for being grossed out. If my reaction wasn't expected then I don't know what to tell you. I will not apologize for my reaction. It wasn't rude or offensive. Just honest.
I was not comparing a mucous plug to a baby! I was being a smart ass because PP stated "is it EVER ok to show ANYONE Something that came out of your body?"

Well the way you fell about people posting discussions about complaints about these ladies, is the way we feel about posting pictures of your vaginal snot. We all have our rights to opinions. Honestly this is crazy I'm a FTM but why the hell does this need to be posted!! I feel like this is the same as taking a picture of a used tampon or of your bowels. Lots of people have been posting joke threads writing mucus plug and you could of Easily expected it to be a joke...
Not her fault you didn't heed the warning! One of the comments made me lol and then do the google search... wow. Can't undo that. But then I lost mine not an hour later! And when DH was like, how do you know? Are you sure? And I could very, very definitely say I just knew.
Re: Mucus plug... Update
Can people stop posting these? Just ew...
Yes, that is part of it. It will continue to come out for a little while...
