It's basically horrible itching in your last trimester. I had it with my first and now this one. I'm just miserable though!! I feel like no one understands how bad it is and I'm just layed up in bed or on the couch all day miserable!
I had it really bad in my 2nd Tri on my shins. Coconut oil and regular lotion didn't help but I tried this really thick Eucerin cream and I definitely saw some results.
I'm pretty sure I have this now. I bought Aveeno cortisone cream which provided some relief but it's absolutely miserable being so itchy! First the bright red stretch marks appeared and now bumps all over. I can't wait to have baby and hopefully end this misery!
I do & I swear it is the most irritating thing in the WORLD. I rather feel pain than the annoying non stop itching. My doctor first prescribed a cream but that didn't help so now I'm taking steroids and an antihistamine/ anti anxiety pill. Today was my first day taking those and they have seemed to offer a good amount of relief compared to all the other lotions and creams I've tried. I'm sorry, I know it sucks!!
I had it with my first pregnancy. Luckily not this time! It was so bad and the doctor told me to just take Benadryl. It was so frustrating not being able to fix it. Mine also continues several weeks after my daughter was born and I ended up on steroids after seeing a dermatologist. Good luck to you! I feel your pain!
I have had it for a month and it is aweful!! I know how you feel when you say no one understands because you're right NO ONE seems to understand your misery. This is probably the case because it's so rare, its something like less then 1% of pregnancys. I can't believe you have it with your second because it's usually only with your first. I've literally tried everything and my best suggestion is GRANDPAS PINE TAR SOAP! It hasnt cured it but it has made it livable. After 2 weeks of using it regularly the rash stopped spreading and it kept it from being inflamed. It has done wonders.
I had PUPPS with my first and I'm really hoping to avoid it this go around bc it was absolutely HORRIBLE! I took oatmeal baths and rubbed lotions on the belly and still wanted to cry all the time!!
I think I have this too. I got palmers soothing oil for itchy skin and it helps for a little while but it's oil so I'm worried it will stain my clothes. Also walking around oiled up in just your underwear might give hubby the wrong idea if your skin is on fire.
I started getting it last week and now it covers most of my body. It's horrible. I am miserable. I've tried so many things. Nothing works for longer then 30 min then I'm itchy again. Honestly the best thing has been cold. A cold shower does wonders. My mom recommended putting ice in bags and placing it on the rashes. I tried it today. I can't do my whole body so I've just put it on whatever part itches the most. It's the most relief I've had.
I had to see a dermatologist because it kept spreading and I couldn't get any relief from the itching! Now I am taking Zyrtec and he also prescribed a cream to help with itching. It has been four days since I delivered my baby and 3 days since I started on the medicines. I still have the rash especially on my legs but it is getting better. He said it should take a week or two to go away.
I've been dealing with PUPPS the last 4 weeks and last week it began it to get better I believe as a result of going to the tanning bed (my midwife recommended it) for just 10 min at a time in a low setting bed. I've been 5 times now. I also think the pool has helped. I've been going everyday to workout in it the last 2 weeks. It has taken time but those are the only two things I did differently the last few weeks that could of possibly helped. I tried everything else recommended to me and have continued those but I never saw a change. If nothing else at least the swimming pool will make you feel better while in it.
So I know I posted already but mine got so bad that I had to go to the hospital for it last night. I started getting hives in between my toes and on the bottom of my feet. Anything that touches my skin, even the softest, most loose fitting clothing, feels like someone is poking me with a bristle brush. They offered to give me a benedryl IV but I've been taking it round the clock with no relief so they gave me a steroid pack instead. Just took my first dose and I'm praying it will help!
OMG yes it's so painful I just want to cry! Mine started 2 weeks after giving birth and I'm so uncomfortable. I've been prescribed a medrol dose pack but have avoided it the last three days because of breastfeeding but I'm giving in I need the medication. It's spread to the soles of my feet and palms of hands and between my fingers. I'm so uncomfortable and just want to take care of my baby but I feel like I can't even take care of myself. :-(
I had to go to the hospital today for it. I woke up and it was so bad on my legs it scared me. The doctor prescribed me some meds for it. I'm hoping it helps. She said it shld at least help me sleep some. Which is what I need the most. While I was there I found out I've started to dilate and am contracting consistently. So maybe my little man will be here soon and I'll get some relief. Lol.
I had it for about 3 and a half weeks and after covering myself in every kind of cream known to humankind it just finally disappeared by itself. only real concern are the unsightly scars all over my arms and back and legs where I was manically scratching.
I honestly don't know if I have it or not. At first I just noticed a bunch of tiny bumps (similar to pimples or ingrown hairs, not like hives) under my bellybutton, but they weren't really visible, starting 2 or 3 days ago. Now my stretch marks are a brighter red and theres some bumps throughout my belly, but not a lot.
Whats really weird....and TOTALLY TMI so sorry in advance......but my butth**e itches non-stop at night along with my belly and it started at the same time. I've been using some of the buttpaste for baby we got (lol) which helps a little bit. But its all been waking me up every hour at night.
DH uses Old Spice POLAR Shampoo and it has a cooling element to it so I used it as a body wash. I just used it on one arm to test it because my skin hurts so bad. I got out of the shower about 20 minutes ago and my arm... The skin is calm! It doesn't itch or burn!!! I'm literally crying because I'm so happy. I'm gonna go wash the rest of me with it and maybe I'll get to sleep!
So for those of us lucky enough to have pupps, when did yours go away? I'm currently 11 days postpartum and as soon as one part of my body gets better, it gets worse somewhere else! So annoying!!!!! I just want it to go away. Plus, the only thing that was helping during pregnancy were epsom salt baths but now I can't bathe ahhhhh.
I was just gonna post yesterday to see if anybody's has gone away! I am only 5 days post partum... Still so itchy! Mine is only around my stretch marks and hasn't gotten any better yet. I'm using a big ice pack on it, which does help temporarily.
Mine went away with a combination of Zyrtec and some anti-itching cream that I was prescribed by a dermatologist. I still have some dry skin left from it and I don't know how long that will be around. But the itching has stopped thank goodness!
Update, I am 8 weeks pp yesterday and FINALLY all itching is gone. Now I have these lovely scars all over my legs. Using bio-oil to try and clear them up. Hopefully now of us will have this in future pregnancies!!
Well I'm jealous! At night I still feel itchy all over my legs. Thankfully it's not nearly as bad as when I was pregnant. I can't wait for it to go away all together!! I'm 8 weeks PP too. Also try vitamin E oil. Even though I'm still scratching, the scars are already starting to fade.

Good luck! And I'm sorry you have to deal with it
