OBGYN can read the ultrasound report without Gender result?

Hello everybody I'm here to ask you something. I went to my last ultrasound and the technician didn't send a gender result to my OBGYN which I ask for. I call my OBGYN and she said they got the ultrasound but no gender report so I ask her if she can tell me if it's a boy or girl? She told me she's not 100% sure but it looks like a girl. It is possible that she might be right?

I did ask the technician but she told me she can't see it. And at that day I was late with my appointment. I'm so eager to know the Sex of my baby because the first ultrasound my anatomy say it was a GIRL and my 3d said it was a BOY now my OBGYN was telling me it looks like a girl. I was so confused. My emotion is like a roller coaster ride. We're praying for a girl since I got boy at my first pregnancy.
  • Well an ultrasound is never going to be 100%, no matter who reads it - the tech or the doctor. And even then I doubt they would put a 100% guarantee on it, mistakes happen. And yeah, the baby could not cooperate and show their privates when someone is looking, so its possible that the tech was unable to see it the first go around. Try to relax, we're all in the home stretch here, its 7 weeks until the end of June and we'll all meet our little ones real soon.

    Good luck!

  • The tech would be better at knowing. You can set up another appointment.
  • With the varying results you have had, I wouldn't trust it. If you want to know that bad, go to an elective ultrasound place. Depending on where you live, they have them all over and it is around $50.
