Whooping cough vaccine question...HELP!!!

Hi everyone! I was recommended by my doctor to get the tdap vaccine. First let me say, I am all for it. However, I called my mom to tell her she needed one too and she told me that I developed meningitis shortly after I was given this as a child (DPT shot in 1986). I really don't know what to do, should I risk if and get the vaccine or wait til baby is 3 months. I obviously dont want to develop this severe of a reaction again and I am also unsure if it will even happen with the new tdap. Anyone experience this before???

    You should have been given the shot while you were in the hospital. I'm not sure why you don't have it yet. By now baby should have his/her first dose also.

    Was your mom suggesting that you some how caught menungitis from the DPT immunization?
    It sounds like it was just coincidental timing. Get the immunization when the doctor suggests, unless your baby is ill at the time, then of course wait until they are healthy.
