Pregnant after 35

Seriously.. can I just have a baby and be home now?!!

I don't know how much more stress I can take. Thank GOD it's almost Friday. Work is freaking out that I'm 4 weeks away from my due date. (even though I told them I was pregnant at freakin' 6 weeks.. it's not like they haven't had time to prepare).  I have literally documented all of my processes with screen shots too so it's not like I'm disorganized. We had a temp to do the person's job who is supposed to be doing my job while I'm out. The temp decides to no call/no show and we haven't found anyone else since.  We have two positions posted on my team alone and literally NO applicants. This is insane.  So they're all freaking out and I'm like hey look.. I don't know what else to tell you guys.. I've been training this person for 3 weeks.. I've been very vocal about telling you that there is NO WAY she can do my job AND hers so you need a temp.  I've documented processes. I've screen shot everything. I've kept everyone in the loop. All of the partners and vendors I work with are away. I mean I don't know what else to do for them.

DH's job is crazy busy right now. It always is during the summer. He's not been home until like 7-8pm every night. DS starts baseball this week. OMG what possessed me to sign him up for baseball this close to my due date.  Two practices a week.. both start at 5:30.. I'm not off work until 5pm. Seriously??!!  DH can't take them. So basically two days a week I'm having to leave work early .. get both kids and get to the ball field by 5:30.  I had to pack a bag last night.. with snacks and a diaper for DD and etc etc.. throw all the baseball gear in the car this morning.. pack the baseball outfit in DS's backpack.  And I'll be straight from here to there.. oh joy!!!

This would just be easier if the baby were here and I wasn't working all day.  I'm exhausted! My house looks like a damn tornado whipped through.  It is SOOO messy.  I clean and two seconds later it's messy.  And seriously if my dog doesn't stop wiping his butt on my carpet.. I may actually lose it!  lol  He does his business.. comes in side and scrapes his butt on my carpet!!! I'm seriously going to kick his butt.  I literally juts paid $200 to have my entire house steam cleaned and now I have little poop marks I'm constantly cleaning up.  I also can't get him to STOP peeing in the laundry room!! It's tiled so at least it's easier clean up but still.. ltierally like every day he's going down there and peeing and I'm mopping that damn floor every day.

Ugh. I'm just so ready. I need a break.  Or a maid. Or a wife. Or all three. lol

Re: Seriously.. can I just have a baby and be home now?!!

  • Yikes!  That is a lot going on!  Breathe in, breathe out.  :)

I hear you about work, though my situation is nowhere near as tough as yours.  Just trying to finish all the teaching stuff for this year and THEN getting started on stuff for next year for the sub.  Technically, I don't HAVE to do stuff for next year, but I know it will make my life easier in the long run.

I'm with you with the hubby's work thing, too!  My fiance has been out of town all week.  He was out of town last week as well.  And he will be out of town again in two weeks.  It's starting to get to me since we are moving at the end of the month and we have packing to do.  Plus, my hormones are making me a bit of an emotional mess, so I miss him.  I know he is trying to get this all out of the way before the baby comes, but it's still tough.

I think it's great that you signed your son up for baseball.  I am guessing he'll love it, even though it is a hassle right now.  You are a good mom (but you already know that!). :)

Sorry about your poocher and the poop problems.  :(  The house we are buying has ZERO carpet and I am just so excited about that!  We don't have a dog, but we have three cats who like to scratch.  And, who knows?  We may get a dog someday.

  • Regarding the dog dragging his butt on the floor, he may need to have his anal glands expressed. In the way nature intends, when they pass stool the small amount of fluid buildup that has accumulated in there expresses on its own, but its not uncommon for it to back up in there and they feel pressure around their butthole, and passing a stool makes them more aware of the pressure. Your vets office should be able to do it as a nurse visit (as in, not paying for a drs visit, the nurses come get him from the lobby, take him to the back while you wait a few minutes, they squeeze the stuff out of his glands, and bring him back). The vet I worked at in NYC charged $35 for this type of nurse visit, but if that's the cause, he will stop dragging his ass on your floor.

Tho, some dogs need to have it done regularly. Some don't. If he starts dragging his ass again, tho, at least you'll know what to do.

  • Good to know!!!! I did not know that. It drives me nuts!! I don't think our vet has a nurse. He does everything himself. But if it's not expensive anyway then it should be ok. Maybe that's why he's doing it.

My dogs have been peeing In the laundry room too! It just started about 2 weeks ago. Drives me up the wall! I'm only 8 weeks along. But they have also started peeing on my clothes if I leave them on the floor. Just my clothes, not my DH or DD. I'm about ready to drive their asses to the pound! Not really, it's just a fantasy

You could also ask if a groomer does it. Some won't, because 1) it IS pretty gross and 2) if there is an infection (happens sometimes but not too often, usually they're just built up) they could make it worse.

If your vet doesn't have any nurses, then yeah, he could do it himself, I'd just hate for you to pay for an official office visit just to have his anal glands expressed. If you do have to go that route, may as well ask him to show you how to do it (like I said, its gross, but I'm sure moms deal with a lot of really gross things - as a FTM I'm thinking some of the situations I find myself in will be close to as gross as an anal gland expression) so you get the most bang for your buck. I would definitely call the office and ask the receptionist tho if you could have it done without having to pay for a full office visit, tho.

  • I was going to mention the same about the anal glands....another thought is worms.  SOmetimes that makes them itch.  EIther way its worth a vet visit to help diagnose the problem!
