When to tell

Ok y'all. First timer here. My husband and I planned on sharing the news with our family this weekend (will be 14 weeks). We had our first u/s at 8 weeks and a scheduled follow up appointment yesterday. The doctor was called into an emergency delivery and we had to reschedule for Monday. I just found out that the next u/s will be at 20 weeks (we assumed we would have an u/s yesterday). How do we know everything is ok? I've had hardly any symptoms and am paranoid after reading one of the blogs about going in for an u/s and not hearing a heartbeat. Again. . Firstimers here. I know it's up to us, just want some thoughts. Should we share the news this weekend? Or wait?

    Share the news.

I got an ultrasound at 10 weeks and won't get another until 20. That's very common unless you have any issues.
If you haven't had any complications tell everyone. There's no reason to live in fear until your next ultrasound.

I had an ultrasound at 7w3d and don't have another till 20 weeks!  I'm 14 weeks now...when you go in for your OB checkups in between those ultrasounds, they listen to your baby's heartbeat with the doppler so that's a pretty reassuring sign.  Don't worry!  You've made it to the 2nd trimester, be happy!

    Thank you! ;)
  • I'll be sharing with family this Sunday, Mother's Day. We're 12weeks I've got all those horrible symptoms that the first trimester graces and first u/s showed healthy baby with strong heartbeat. If it feels right I would tell family, in the end they'll support you either way
