Hello from a first time mom!

Hi everyone, 

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself! I just found out this morning that I'm pregnant after three positive hpts - just to be sure :)

I have my first doctor's appointment next Wednesday. Hubby and I are both excited but, nervous as heck that something terrible could happen. We don't want to share the news too widely yet so I may be relying on you ladies for support until we let everyone in on our big news! Hope you don't mind! 

When did you ladies share your news with family and friends?

    Congrats and welcome!
    With my first I told my sisters and parents the day I found out. They knew we were trying.
    This pregnancy was a shock and we haven't told anyone yet.

    Congratulations! I'm only 5 weeks but I'm in your boat: first baby, excited, nervous, etc. I haven't shared with many people yet, just because it's still so early, and I want to go to my doctor appointment on Monday first. My Sister-In-Law just miscarried her first baby, so we want to make sure we are in the clear before we start telling people. Currently, only me, my husband, my mom and 2 really close friends know. The only reason I told the 2 girls is because one is pregnant with her second, and one just had her third. I had to tell my mom, I just couldn't wait, for several reasons.

    I will probably tell my parents and inlaws within the next two weeks. None of my siblings live remotely close. Sister - Micronesia, Brothers - Africa & Hawaii. My sister and one brother is moving back in June/July. Was hoping I'd be able to wait out and tell them when they returned but it's going to be too difficult to keep a secret past the first trimester. Probably will tell them on Skype.
    Sorry for the book. :)

    First time here too! I have told our parents and siblings and 3 friends. But in my case they were all along for the ride as we had been struggling to fall pregnant so this pregnancy was the result of IVF and they were all along for the bad times! It only felt right to share in the good news..!

    I feel that I would want these people to be there if anything eve happened so don't mind telling them!

    Where in Africa is your brother @aehogan90 ?

    These boards help though as I am far from family so nice to read to others experiences !!

    Due Jan 9th and first scan is on Thursday ..!

    Hello!  I'm due with baby #5!  For us, we don't share until 12 weeks but it's a personal preference.

    Congrats!

    With our first we waited until 12 weeks, however this time we already told family and will start to tell others after our first US. With my first I was very cautious about everything, however with this pregnancy I decided I want to enjoy it from the beginning and share the news with my loved ones.

    Welcome and Congrats!!  We told some close friends who knew we were TTC as soon as we found out.  My thinking is I would tell them is something bad happened to seek comfort, so I didn't see why not.  We are telling parents on Mother's Day.  Everyone else will probably be after 12 weeks.
