Stuffy nose?

My LO is 6 weeks old and she sounds like she has a bunch of stuff in her nose when she breathes sometimes. I've looked her nose and I don't see anything and her nasal passages aren't swollen. I've used the syringe and it sounds like it's getting stuff out but never really gets anything. Is there anything I can do to help this?

Re: Stuffy nose?

  • Use the NoseFrieda (snot sucker)- our pediatrician recommended it :). Doesn't work 100% but you do get some snot out

  • I also use the NoseFrieda. I like it more than the syringe because I can see what I'm getting out. Maybe the blockage is too dry to come out? You could try putting saline drops or a drop or two of breastmilk in the nose to loosen things up and then try sucking. Best of luck! :)

  • Nasal spray really does break things up and make it easier to get out, and our pedi said there is no such thing as using it too frequently. I can almost never get anything out without it... and like PP said, the NoseFrida is awesome. I was really grossed out at the idea of it when I heard about it, but there is a filter and nothing gets anywhere near your mouth, haha.

We love our Nose-Frida. Hubby has gotten really good at using it. Ha! I like the idea of saline or breast milk to moisten the nasal passages. Thanks!
