Any one planning on doing a reveal party? Any fun ideas for the reveal?

I am! Just started planning last night. We are keeping it small, just both sets of parents, SIL and BIL. My sister lives out of state so she will skype in for the reveal. We are going to do the confetti pops so that everyone can participate in the fun. I also plan to have a vote of what gender people think before we do the reveal and then lots of decorations. We will have dinner and then a cake that is gender themed too.

Note: hubby and I will know the gender before the party. He really wants to be able to find out just the two of us so that we have that special moment. The party is for the grandparents, this is thier first grand child on both sides and they are dying to be involved and celebrate, especially since we had to tell them we are expecting over the phone.

I wasn't going to do one. We did one for our first with just family. It was June and a great time for a bbq! No gifts or anything and everyone was really excited! We did cupcakes with the color inside with icing. Nothing crazy.

However, lots of people in the family are begging for me to do it again! If I do, it will be smaller I think.

I've been racking my brain and scouring Pinterest to come up with ideas. I don't want to do anything that requires too much time to clean up and I don't want anything that's too expensive. I was thinking of having a cake but I really want to do something different. This is probably the hardest project I've worked on since college. LOL.

We're having a small sex reveal party in a few weeks... It's going to be at my grandparent's place on the lake, and will just be immediate family. It's more of a family bbq/get together with the reveal as a bonus. I'm pretty excited! My sister-in-law is pretty awesome and she's making a super cute pinata and is filling it with blue or pink confetti and then we're pulling the ribbon to reveal the sex of our baby. I can't wait! We're not finding out the sex until the party, so it'll make it more special for us.

I threw one for a friend. I made a banner that said "he or she, what will it be?" and the theme was mustaches or kiss-ie lips. Every one voted and wore a sticker with a mustache or red lips on it. I cut out mustaches and lips and put a hole in them and attached them to straws so when you were drinking they looked cute in front of your mouth. We had snacks and I made a cake they cut into for gender.

I found out the sex yesterday and just texted this friend "it's a girl" and she called me all upset that I didn't even reveal it in a cute way. Eh, I'm fine with just announcing "it's a girl" via text.

@oywiththepoodlesalready that sounds similar to what we originally had planned! We found out the sex together earlier this week, and Saturday was the day we planned to have a dinner for our parents. However, my stepdad had to go out of town several weeks ago for work. He's making the trip out for our reveal and he and my mom decided they would be willing to host a larger party for a crawfish boil (Louisiana, y'all). We've decided to do a box with balloons inside.

I'm dying to tell our families and friends this weekend! It can't get here fast enough.

I'm putting together a box of baby girl stuff or baby boy stuff (depending on what we're having) and having my daughter open it with our parents. I'm thinking ill do a coming home outfit, pacifier, ultrasound pic with pink bow on head or blue bowtie on neck, maybe another odd thing. Then we are having pizza and cake. Boom. Done.

I'm doing mine at the end of the month. My dad will be the only one that will know the sex. I'm going to pitch a softball to my boyfriend & it will explode into a pink or blue powder depending on the sex.

My husband due to his new job will not be able to go to anymore appointments with me not even ultrasounds. So my mom will come with me and she will be the only one to know. We will have a party and she is going surprise us with the sex. I can't wait. It will not be till June or July.

Hubby and I are finding out next Wednesday (hopefully baby cooperates! ) then when we go to our home town for queens birthday weekend at the end of May we are ordering cupcakes with the appropriate coloured icing in the centre-for our children mostly but the grandparents wanted to see them eating the cupcakes and their reaction! Also invited our sisters so it's only immediate family.

I am an avid shooter, so we are doing the Tannerite exploding chalk target to reveal the sex! I will shoot the target and when it explodes, it disperses the chalk. My immediate family and I know the sex, so this is for my friends and facebook. Everyone will wear their guess to the party (pink or blue shirts).

We had our ultrasound last Thursday and the reveal party is finally today! My coworker is putting the reveal together because we don't know. It'll be amazing to find out in front of our friends and family, and the anticipation has been so exciting! We're doing silly string and spraying eachother, it'll be either pink or blue. We're grilling and having food and desserts as well. My husband wanted to wait until delivery to find out the gender but we compromised on throwing a party to find out

I'm having a reveal as well with close family and friends. We will also know the sex before everyone else. Although some of my fam and friends thinks it's silly and that we should find out with them. Its OUR reveal to them lol

That's what we are doing too! Husband and I will know but it will be a suprise to everyone else. What chalk are you using - I was going to get chalk used at the color runs but it seemed pretty expensive and non returnable for the color we don't use so I think we are just going to make our own.

The day we have our anatomy scan (and hopefully find out baby's sex, assuming he/she cooperates!), we are traveling to my IL's house for the weekend. DS's 2nd birthday is the 24th and our appointment is the 22nd.

We're planning to drop by Target after the appointment to buy a couple baby items (if it's a girl, they have something perfect-- a collection of owl-themed items in pink and mint green, which are the colors I'll use for the nursery if it's a girl). We'll put them in a neutral colored gift bag and after dinner with the family (my SIL's, BIL and his wife and son will be there) and have DS open the bag while someone takes pictures.

To share with family who won't be there (my side), we'll text them pics or a video, and then we'll share on Facebook along with an announcement including baby's name. We haven't really shared name ideas except with immediate family.

Maybe I'll do a vote before dinner to see what everyone's guess is. I thought about doing a cake, or somehow incorporating the reveal into DS's birthday celebration, but I want his day to be HIS and I don't think j could keep the secret two extra days!

My sister is plannin a party for us. Even though DH and I will know before hand. I think we will get a piñata and fill it with blue or pink candy!

I went home depot and they have the carpenters chalk for the string lines. Blue and red are the available colors. I waited until I found out this past Monday to buy the supplies so I don't have to worry about returns.

We did the same thing with the tannerite! It was so so much fun We are big hunters so my husband said "If we just have to have this party at least let me shoot something! Lol

Sorry I forgot to add what we're doing. Its going to be a treasure hunt theme. Whoever has the right key will unlock the treasure box to find out if its a boy or girl! Scavenger hunt will lead them in right direction.
