Help. Nothing sounds good

I'm 7weeks 5 days preggo. In the evenings is when my MS kicks in. I've heard you should eat small meals every few hours but nothing sounds good. It's like the things that I'm use to eating, the thought of eating them now makes me sick.
Plus I'm always exhausted. I can't sleep enough.
Any ideas? I've tried making fruit smoothies with spinach and kale to help with nutrition but I'm getting tired of eating just that.

Re: Help. Nothing sounds good

  • I have been just trying to eat very small meals. Anything that is super bland. Anything with a smell killlls me. Ugh

  • I feel like I have to eat like a super picky little kid! I'm all about mac & cheese, yogurt, pb&j, etc

This is me as well, plus grilled cheese.
  • Nothing sounds good to me either. I was walking through the Target food aisles earlier today dragging cause everything made me nauseas. I came back to work and cut up some strawberries, and paired that with saltines and a little sharp cheddar cheese. That was my lunch cause everything else sounded disgusting. Grilled cheese sounds good though! Maybe have to have that for dinner...
  • I am struggling to eat. I've lost a lot of weight (for me). I've eaten a lot of food over sandwiches but I can't even step foot into a grocery store. I never had this problem with DS
  • Sometimes I pick my food by what I can imagine without starting to gag...
  • I toasted bread bread and put some cream cheese on it this morning. It was crunchy and dry, the only thing that sounded good!
  • My morning sickness should be called evening sickness, too! I am so bummed because my favorite, avocado, has just made the "ew. that's disgusting" list.
I also cannot get enough of Annie's shells with white cheddar. I ate a whole box for lunch on Saturday.
  • I'm living on toasted muffins, the only thing that doesn't make me sick!! All the stuff I used to eat, even the thought of them, makes me sick :(
  • Cottage cheese is helping me, for some reason

Mine also kicks in the afternoon/evening.
For me it's veggies that do the trick, a simple tomato-cucumber-dill-onion salad with a bit of lemon and olive oil.
Also, a piece of toast with a Swiss cheese (any yellow cheese, in fact).
And yes, small meals. even during the day, before it kicks in.
In general, what has usually helped with any kind of nausea was sucking a piece of lemon (careful, if you have a hyper-acidic stomach it's not good for you), or drinking lemon water (no sugar, just squeeze a bit into the glass).
    I hope you feel better.
  • Went to the grocery store the other day and walked out with nothing but ginger ale, mashed potatoes and pretzels.

Had Mac and cheese for dinner tonight because I was craving it like crazy! It was so good!
Feeling a little guilty for the crummy dinners I've been having, but I'm just trying to do whatever I can to keep my ms at bay!

I'm struggling with the evening morning sickness too- even the site of an avocado or guacamole on TV makes me sick to my stomach.

All the healthy foods I used to love are complete turn offs now. My standard go to is pizza or grilled cheese for dinner- i can pretty much get down nothing else - ugh.
  • It's all carbs. Pizza or biscuits have been ok for me this week. And Gatorade. Seems I get dehydrated quick.
  • I have only gotten physically sick a few times, but I'm having a lot of the same feelings. Everyday feels like the day after a stomach bug. Nothing seems desirable I feel like I'm hungry but then I eat something and it doesn't sit right. Didn't have it like this with my daughter.

  • Instant mashed potato cups, applesauce, cottage cheese, oatmeal and melon is just about all I eat these days.
I hadn't considered grilled cheese before today but it actually sounds good. I'm nearly 11 weeks and since about 6-7w I've thrown up 1-5 times a day....hence the very short list of foods all actually attempt.
