Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Turners Syndrome

How appropriate we would get our genetic testing back the same week as our first due date and Mother's Day weekend. Not. It seems our 2nd angel was a girl and had Turners Syndrome. I know it is likely to only happen once, but it makes me wonder about our first miscarriage. I wish we had done testig with that one as well. Our OB is willing to do genetic testing on me and my Hubs so we are going next week for lab draws.

I guess I'm curious if anyone else has experience with genetic testing. I'm scared of what we will and won't find out. I guess I'm relieved to know its not a hormone or clotting issue with me. (I've had those labs drawn). But to me, a possible genetic issue between us seems like such a bigger obstacle.

Lots of prayers appreciated.

  • I don't have any experience with genetic testing, but I am so sorry you are going through another loss on what would have been a due date. We are in the midst of our first (and i pray only) loss and I know the due date is going to be hard. Praying you get the answers you want. Sometimes finding nothing is worse than finding something that can potentially be treated.

  • Thank you for for posting this. We thought about doing this with our LO but decided to just opt for testing in my own body. A possible abnormalities in bodily fluid or clotting is suspected but we are hoping all the blood draws will give us some pieces that fit together. How man MC was this for you?
