Blood Transfusion

I have given birth to my baby boy on May 6 @ 12:53am he weighed in at 8lbs 1oz. He was a scheduled induction on his due date of May 5 due to gestational diabetes. I experienced a cervical rupture and will be getting a blood transfusion in a few minutes. Has anyone ever had a blood transfusion?

    Never gotten one but as a nurse I've given many. They're very safe these days with minimal risks.

    My 2 year old got one a few weeks ago and it was fine! I had to sign a form about risks which scared me for a second but it's nothing to worry about. I hope you recover well and are back to loving on your little boy ASAP!

    I had a couple after the birth of my dd because I lost a lot of blood from tearing. It wasn't a big deal.

    I had one when I had my dd. It was not a big deal even though the thought of it freaked me out. It made me feel better. I'm a nurse too and it's a very safe process. Good luck!
