Need to vent about my baby shower

I left everything in my moms hands to handle and I can't even count on her to get it all handled. I'm so frustrated. My shower is on the 23rd and she hasn't even sent out the invites yet. I live in Kansas and my husband and I are driving all the way out to California to have this shower. He's in the army so it was kind of short notice on the date but we had to work with his schedule. I thought it would be a lot easier for my mom to just handle it all from there since I'd have to drive an hour to Topeka to get any decent supplies and invites. She was supposed to send out the invitations on Monday but didn't bother telling me until today that she didn't have the money to do so. I would have gladly sent the money for stamps to her. Now with the baby shower two weeks away I'm so frustrated that no one has got their invitation yet!!!

    That stinks! Its a hard situation, can you and your mom split the list and call people to explain? Not ideal, but I want your trip to be worth it and get to spend time with friends and family!

    How frustrating! I think the evite idea is a good one and perfect for this situation, your guests will get the evite asap and you will get the rsvps in a timely manner. As bad as some people might think it is, I'd talk to my mom and offer to help out with the rest of the shower planning. You don't want to find out at the last minute that something else was overlooked.

    I plan to help her out with everything else as soon as I get there. I was just really counting on her for the invitations! She said she didn't want to bother me for the money to send them out which is silly lol but she's going to send them out tomorrow. Thankfully most of my friends know when the shower is. I just wanted to make sure that they had the reminder.
