June 2015 Moms

Hilarious

So I was lurking the May board and they have a giant thread on how they are all planning on losing the baby weight......... In the meantime at J15 were all still so into our food :) just thought It was kind of funny. They also have such high ambition and grand plans........... I'm wondering what my ambition after baby will be like. I feel as if breastfeeding will take over my life and wondering if I'll exercise at ALL. How bout you ladies?!

My goals are to learn how to be a mother to twins and hopefully breastfeed them as well. I have taken classes and read many books and have all my supplies to do the damn thing. Hope it works out.
I am an avid gym goer so I'm not gonna lie I wanna lose this baby fat asap. That does not mean that I am gonna rush back to it and hurt myself. I am just glad it will be summer and I can get out and take the girls and my dogs for walks.
  • Before I became pregnant I had gained about 20/30 lbs...so I do need to lose some weight. Not just for looks but mostly for more energy. But I'm not going to stress about it until the Fall. I do plan continuing to on eat my GD diet (although less carbs). Drink more water and take nightly strolls in the neighborhood. I'm not planning on going to the gym until later.

My goal is to be the best mommy I can be! But Im looking forward to getting back to some of my old fitness classes I took before I was pregnant! I took a cardio ballet barre class and an Ariel yoga class 1-2 times a week with my girlfriends beforehand and can't wait to go back again! Hubs it a teacher so both of us will be home all summer with little man so once medically cleared I'll be back to those, and we walk the dogs every day! I want to try to get a normal healthy routine going this summer before I have to go back to work in the fall!
  • So, I've always struggled with body image issues, and my weight has always been the centre of that.  I have a hard time losing any sort of weight.  Before getting pregnant I worked really hard with a PT, and dropped a couple dress sizes (though the blasted number stayed the same - I know, I know, it's not the number...but still!).  Since getting pregnant and seeing the scale go up I've had a hard time mentally with it, so yes losing the baby weight is a *huge* priority for me.  I plan on giving myself some time to get in a routine with LO, learn how to be a Mom, I do hope to breastfeed, all of the things PPs have mentioned above are important to me, but I'll admit, weight loss is definitely on my mind.

My main goal is definitely to try to maintain sanity. Getting some sleep and just getting used to my new life as a momma is priority #1.

Goal # 2 is gonna sound pretty selfish but I'd like to enjoy a bit of this summer outdoors. Everyone at work is like "That's so awesome you'll be off all summer!" and for the longest time ive agreed that the timing is absolutely perfect but now i worry I'll be scared to bring the baby out and about or that I'll be bleeding so much i wont even want to sit by my in-laws pool. My family's beach house was destroyed by hurricane Sandy and it was only finished being rebuilt and ready to enjoy a month or two ago. Feeling like I won't get to spend much time there this summer after waiting sooooooo long to be back in action

And yeah, i guess iwant to lose some weight. I have to be a bridesmaid in early october and I want to have some semblance of my former self back by then. I've never been tiny. I'm 5'8' and was probably an 8/10 before pregnancy. When i went to order the bridesmaid dress the women at the store insisted i get a size 22. I mean, i've gained 30 lbs so far so i know im bigger but i figured i'd only need maybe 3 sizes larger since i'd lose some weight fairly quickly. It was pretty depressing to say the least. So yea, time to cut back on the slurpeees

My only goal outside of all things baby is to get outside and walk a little everyday.  It helps my mood.  I wasn't able to do it when I had my daughter because it was so darn cold in MN already.  I used to go to Target, just so I could walk around.  So sad!

Hey, do what you need to do to get the exercise in! My grandpa likes to go for walks every day in the mall near his house. He never has the weather as an excuse for not getting his cardio in (except when roads are bad due to snow)!

finchfeeder80 i had to remind myself of exactly that. It was just shocking cause i was polling friends
who were familiar with Bill Levkoff dresses about what size i should order (was originally just gonna do it online) and they all said to go 3 sizes larger than prepregnancy to make up for weight gain and evil bridal sizes.
I know bridal sizes are designed to make women feel terrible about themselves so i took it with a grain of salt. I also reminded myself if there's ever a time to feel sad about my  weight/size now is NOT the time.  So I'm halfway between hoping that they're right with the size and hoping they were so wrong they need to rush me another dress. But alas, I will have to try to make fitness a minor priority in my summer vacation.

ETA: this got formatted weird but i think i fixed it

this. all of this. seeing as its too hot for me to be outside much in the summer ill probably just be staying inside working out here and there, i want to lose the baby weight and then like another 40lbs on top of that. but i know i will mostly feel run down and tired for the first few months. so keeping the house clean is another priority.
  • I just want my body back by next summer. I want life to be all about baby for awhile!
  • I definitely have an ambitious post-pregnancy plan. I want to work out and feel confident in a swimsuit pretty immediately after baby is born - I love in Orange County and summer is basically here, I don't have time to worry about whether I look good on the beach when I should be enjoying my time with my newly expanded family! We have an active summer planned and I'll be damned if I look like crap in all the pictures we'll be taking.
  • I've only gained ten but that's because I had planned on loosing fifty before getting pregnant. That didn't happen so, I'm not too worried. I'll loose it as I go. DH has already started his low carb diet without me, Not fair! So I'm going to focus on breast feeding and feeling good. My lupus makes it hard to move around a lot and I had a few surgerys planned before getting pregnant so....I'm focused on being a healthy mom for now.
  • My goal is to be back to my pre pregnancy clothes by the time I go back to work, so 4 months. I was super active before (spinning, Pilates, les mills classes) but I have really taken it down being pregnant. I've gained more weight than I planned being pregnant and I'm hoping breastfeeding will help me drop the weight. I have a hx of an eating disorder so I'm just hoping I'm not too hard on myself if if I can't meet my goal.
  • I want to do another mini marathon next spring. So hoping to start running again whenever the doctor okays me, I ran up until 31 weeks but then the belly got in the way. I miss it because it was my stress reliever.
  • @lindsladle15, sweet!!! Yay for not feeling dirty/gross :)
