Scared/Nervous

Any tips to help mentally prepare myself for labor & delivery?
I'm a FTM I'm not scared I'm more nervous & anxious than anything. I'm 38+4. I'm 1cm dilated & 50% effaced. My OB doesn't let her patients go past 40weeks so if no progress happens I'll be having her by next Saturday forsure. Reality has hit me ITS COMING! Ahhhh

Re: Scared/Nervous

  • Just breath and deal. I'm a STM and still having same anxiety I had the first time. It's scary but we have to do it :) my first birth was long but really easy. Honestly the healing was worse. So just trying to think positive and hope for the best. Good luck!
I'm 39+3 weeks and was supposed to get induced today but hospital got busy and I'm still waiting for that call to come in.

Search previous posts- many have written about this- particularly "anxiety l&d"
  • As my husband told my "belly" last night: "Come out so we can snuggle you and give you all your new stuff!!!!"

Yes that was a really good thread!
  • I'm a FTM too and a bit nervous on how this whole thing is "going down." I just keep reminding myself that when its all over, I'll have a precious little boy and a new adventure partner in life.

I'm a STM but I'm pretty nervous. I was induced with DS but it ended in a c-section. I'm hoping for a VBAC this time. I just plan to go with the flow and not worry too much. Stressing and tensing up can make labor longer and more difficult then it has to be. I'm going to try to rely on DH for as much support as he can give me.
