I'm 23 weeks pregnant with my first daughter and I feel off.... not at all like myself. I have bad fatigue, alot of confusion, I'm loosing track of time, feeling forgetful.... what is going on?
Definately pregnancy brain. Thank God I work with so many moms in both my jobs because instead of being yelled at for making stupid mistakes (like sending emails to set up meetings to someone who doesn't work at our company anymore) they just give me a pat on the back and say, "yeah... I used to remember everything too before my [son/ daughter]" Needless to say, you're not alone.
My son is 9 months old and people still let me claim pregnancy brain, except it's baby brain now.
Hahahahaha too true. I tried handing my newborn to the school bus matron instead of my 5 year old one morning. It took me a few seconds to understand why she was looking at me so funny. On Sunday my 3 year old woke me up and I immediately grabbed her to change her diaper. She's been potty trained for a year now. I'm not sure when my brain will come back.
Its hormones. They actually call it pregnancy clumsiness.. It is a real thing! Your hormones make you feel that way! Hormones are secreted all over your body, and pretty much control every system within your body, from your digestive to nervous and reproductive, it affects your skin (such as Acne during pregnancy and puberty.. which I am suffering from!) It releases hormones in your brain which can cause your headaches (another thing I am suffering from) it can alter your senses, and much more! It slows down our metabolism, because since prehistoric days women have needed to retain fat for the baby. It is all natural.
My memory is terrible, because of my hormones and veins I am having terrible light headedness and headaches which will not go away..
what stinks is I have to deal with college and right now a Statistics for Life Sciences course. It is almost impossible!
I suffered fatigue really bad too, still do. I have my days where I feel great (rare) and the days where I feel terrible. I wish this would just go away. If it makes you feel any better I am pregnant with my 3rd child and I still get all of this. Every pregnancy is different!
35 Weeks with Baby Boy #3
Jace Thomas- 2 years oldandZachary William 5 years old!
To repeat what everyone else has said, it's hormones and "pregnancy brain." You've pretty much described what every day has been like for me for the past 2-3 weeks.
Your pregnant, that's what's going on. Hormones do amazing things in our bodies, and one of them is just making our brains chug a bit slower. Get plenty of rest, nap daily if you can, exercise, make protein your intake priority, and drink plenty of water. Best!
