kinda freaking inside

So I went to my normal appointment and my OB is out for the day. Opted to see midwife so I didn't have to come back tomorrow. Mentioned an increase in contractions and a decrease in fetal movement since Sunday late/early Monday. And she sent me to l&D for observation, she wouldn't tell me if I should be concerned or not since she isn't my OB. I came to my appointment alone seeing as dh is at home with Ds. I called to give him an update but just told him to stay home for now. I just don't know if I should be worrying or not, is this just a precaution? I'm sitting in the l&D waiting room. I was so confused when I came in I had to calculate how old I was by counting from my birth year... twice.

My doc tends to be very conservative- I had to go for NST and US today merely bc it's my due date and she's not here. Your doc/MW may just also be overly cautious

I hope everything is okay for you.
  • I think she is being conservative too, especially since she isn't your ob. Any time there is decrease in movement they will want to monitor. I'll say a prayer for you!
  • Thanks ladies, everything was fine. LO passed the observation. He's in there for two more weeks. The nurse was so calming I told her how I was just sent over no explanation and she agreed she would have stressed too. But since my ob was out, mw couldn't call any shots. Safer than sorry. I did get to see LO on the ultrasound which was cool, I haven't seen one of him since 25 weeks.
