lower back pain

I read that lower back pain is common during this time, tomorrow I'm 19 weeks! Anyone else experiencing this?

Re: lower back pain

  • I'm almost 17 weeks experiencing the lower back pain!  I'll be fine when I wake up but after an hour, boom! there it is.  :(  I've been meaning to try a heating pad but not sure if that is allowed, even if for only 5-10 minutes.

  • A heating pad is definitely ok- as long as your not overheating you are fine!!

Yes! I actually got a massage hoping it would help and now it's actually worse on one side :(
  • My doctor told me to try yoga and swimming to help and also sleeping with a pillow inbetween my knees to keep my hips straight. Hope it helps
  • Yes!  The pain has been waking me up during the night.  I go to a chiropractor (have been going to the same one for years and he is comfortable adjusting pregnant women) and that has really helped!

  • Yep, and I have been for weeks.  Yoga and the chiropractor are my two best friends.

  • For two weeks here also. I use a heating pad some in the evenings. Not at work where it is the worst from moving, bending, etc. I try and sit and rest it for a bit. It's definitely awful.
  • Thanks ladies! I do the pillow thing but that only helps a little....the chiro while pregnant scares me but the heating pad is a good idea!!!
