Anxiety and Depression during pregnancy

Anyone experience anxiety and depression while pregnant? I am really struggling every day. I can't stop my mind from racing and I cry and cry and cry. I know hormones change a lot but the way I feel isn't normal. I'm on medicine but have only been on it three weeks. It just sucks because this is supposed to be a happy and fun time in my life.

Thanks!

Re: Anxiety and Depression during pregnancy

  • I have been. This is my first pregnancy and it's via ivf. I struggle bc having.anxiety each day over whether or not my.baby is okay has turned into mild depression. My husband doesnt seem to understand and I feel alone. I cry a lot bc I feel it's almost unbearable. I'm 15+4 and worry bc I'm not showing, I feel nothing, I use the doppler and.them worry if I harmed the baby...no relief. And.now I have a.constant sore throat due to.rhinitis that is awful. I.begged God for this and am.struggling emotionally so much.

  • I feel for ya girls
  • I'm 15+2 after spotting for 10 days lightly I'm terrified something is wrong. I feel thinner than a few weeks ago thanks to having an appetite for better food this week but I have less bump and boobs than I had thought.
I wake each morning with terrible headaches which start my days in a bad mood and certainly don't help my mood. My anxiety has been enough to raise my blood pressure so I'm really hoping to snap out of it
  • What are you guys doing to cope with it? I'm the same. I prayed for this child and now I feel lost. It's awful. I'm seeing a psychiatrist but the medicine just isn't helping then I worry about being on the medicine. I've never felt like this before.

Hi ladies. I'm right there with you. I have suffered with anxiety & depression since having my first child. I was on tablest for the 1st year with baby number 1 & for around 6months with 2nd baby. I'm now not on anything & I can relate to these feelings. BUT it does get easier. I've learnt to cope in many ways one being having a good support system ie friends & family. Other things that can help are simple things like gentle exercise such as yoga or swimming great way to relax the mind, making sure your getting enough sleep(not always easy), and keeping busy. Instead of staying in bed as I know it can make you feel that way get up and go for a walk. These little things really do help. Also have a word with your Dr about cognitive behavioural therapy. I've not tried it but I've heard it's very good. Don't give up it will get better.. :)
  • I'm so sorry for what you guys are going through.
I don't struggle with anxiety or depression while pregnant, but I did have PPD/anxiety right after birth with my son who is 11months. I was really nervous about this pregnancy since I hadn't fully recovered from PPD with him. I've been doing great.
I really feel for what you guys are going through since I have just been there and it is extremely difficult to go through. A lot of people just don't understand.
Exercise and walking helps a lot. Along with healthy eating and my psychologist recommended meditation and/or yoga. Getting in the sun helps, too.
I give you guys credit for getting on meds right away and being proactive.
  • @mariangie7 @Sweetpea192 are either of you interested in becoming friends to have someone to talk to? I would be willing to text or call. I'm having a hard time finding a group in my area and really think having another pregnant person to talk to that is going through the same thing would be beneficial.
