Returning baby clothes

We received tons of secondhand clothes from very generous family and friends. At the baby shower, we also got more clothes (again very grateful!). But, I want to return some of the new clothes and put the money toward other baby stuff. Problem is many people left the tags on but no receipt so don't know where they came from. Short of driving around to every store that sells baby clothes, does anyone know of a way to figure this out? Maybe looking up the codes on the tags? Thanks!

Re: Returning baby clothes

  • I was able to find a lot of my misc. items online at target before going in. Still have a bunch though that I couldn't find. I think some are kohls but I don't want credit there so I'm going to try to sell them myself.

I had this same problem..... No idea where half the clothes came from.

What are the brands?? I am sure many ladies can recognize the store
  • Yes! List the brands and all of us STM can help you out! I can usually tell by hangers too ;)
  • Carters is generally from kohls and Bealles. Gerber from target and wall mart and Cisco is generally from target. I had to take back some clothes that we got too.
  • There is actually a website that tells you which brands are sold where. The problem is....i don't remember the site name. I'll post when/if I remember.
  • I'm curious about this, too. We got a lot of stuff that will be the wrong size seasonally (lots of summer stuff sized 6 months). A lot of it is weird brands that I've never heard of and I have no idea where to return it to. If anyone knows of a way of checking that would be awesome, even if I can only get store credits, I can hopefully use those towarda diapers or something else practical
  • "First impression" clothes come from Macy's! I do know that.
  • Thanks for the suggestions! I'm not looking at them right now but there were some clothes with labels for Carters, Burts Bees, Gerber, Circo.
  • They sell a wide selection of Burts Bee's clothes at Buy Buy Baby if you have one in your area.

    Circo is Target
  • I've also seen Burts Bees at TJ Maxx. Carters can be the store, Kohls, Macy's or Ross. Gerber can be Target or Wal Mart
  • Burts bees clothing can be target too... FYI, I've checked them out and not only is it organic but GOTS certified too so from start to finish in manufacturing no chemicals, fair labor, etc. I'd keep it ;)
  • Also i discovered cherokee is target...i just did this theother day and honestly babiesrus takes clothes sometimes even if they werent bought there (thats at least what the lady told me ) i was so happy i drove around to 4 different stores because i ended up gettin close to $260 in credits!!!! Its crazy how much clothes are!
  • This isn't entirely clothing related, but I need to return a couple of items I received more than 5 of at my shower and found out they can be sold at several stores. What should I do?

I have no need for 5 of these items.
  • All of those brands you listed are at target... I ALWAYS buy onesies for showers since you can never have too many right? (unless of course everyone has already given you plenty). Target sells all of those brands- AND often target is a little more lax on their return policy and will at least give you some store credit... if that helps?
