What I have:
12 microfiber inserts
6 type A pocket diapers (alva)
6 type B pocket diapers (I think suede)
6 unbleached, prefold cloth diapers 100% cotton
I have a washer, dryer, clothes line and sunny florida weather. I also have my diaper detergent of choice, vinegar, bleach (or other household things if I need them)
What I did: I put EVERYTHING in together on a cold rinse, then hot rinse with 2 teaspoons of detergent, then hot rinse, now they are outside drying.
I know what I did wrong, I'm not supposed to prep the microfiber and the cotton together. I'd love to fix this is an little steps as possible. This is my first time cloth diapering. How badly did I mess up? Should I just keep everything together, and wash and dry two more times like the cotton prefolds told me to do, essentially "stripping" the microfiber and pocket diapers while I continue "prepping" the prefolds? Or would that just make it worse? Cut my losses, leave the microfibers and pockets alone, put them away when they're done drying, keep in mind they won't be as fabulously absorbent as they would me their first couple uses and finish prepping the cotton prefolds?
I tried to Google and see if there was another silly prepper like me, but I can't find any info. Thanks!
Re: Prepping mistake, help me fix, please.
You already did them in detergent so just wash, no more detergent needed.
For the cotton prep them as instructed.
