Active fetal movement

We just found out we're having a girl! She is very active, even the ultrasound tech said she was 'chasing' her to get measurements. Both the ultrasound tech and my OB have assured me that this active little munchkin is very healthy and must just be happy! She is most active after I eat and at night when I'm relaxed watching TV. I am also pretty active, my husband and I do 30 minutes of cardio and lift weights 4-5 times a week. Maybe that has something to do with it... This is my husband's second, his first (a boy) was not very active. I am 19 weeks today and look froward to more of her punches and kicks! Anyone else have an active baby? :)

Congrats on baby girl!! My baby girl is very active too! The tech had a hard time getting measurements bc she wouldn't stop moving!

  • Had my scan yesterday. Baby girl! she was also moving also moving also they couldn't get that good of pics of the heart and stomach, so the tech said I may need to come back in 2 weeks for another one. I'll find out for sure at my Dr. appt next week.
  • Congrats! That's so sweet- good to know baby is healthy. I'm thinking tomorrow at my scan I may hear the same, my little kicker regularly wakes me at night with their movements, and has gone from moving when I relax to kicking all day no matter what. I swear it's doing backhand springs in there haha. Congrats again!
  • Man alive! This sweet boy doesn't stop! I love love love love it!

I slightly worry he will come out as rambunctious as I am, but he says hi allllll the time!!

My OB said there is a correlation between uterine activity and out of the womb activity but no direct link. So we will see ;;)
  • I swear it's like my babe is swimming laps in there, complete with the underwater flip thing to change direction lol! Since 16 weeks there hasn't been a day where I don't feel movement several times a day. And it's only getting stronger. Can't wait until my anatomy scan in a few hours to finally see what the heck it's doing in there!
  • @kalipepper Our sweet boy was doing everything we thought. Running away from the ultrasound wand, swimming and kicking the doppler, everything.

    Love him!!!! :x
  • @kalipepper did you find out gender?
I'm curious to see how many active babies are each gender! I'm Loving how active our baby girl is! Ever so slightly (and sometimes not so slightly
  • Same here! It's so interesting to think about that tiny little baby dancing around in there! My girl is very active - I mostly feel her kicks. Pretty much throughout the whole day. They're getting so strong!
  • My little girl was so lazy during the scan lol. She did wave to us (or at least that's what it looked like. The tech said that she was camera shy and just seemed to want to sleep! However, when the doppler or ultrasound machine isn't turned on, she is actively kicking and flipping all around! I can't wait to meet her and hold her for the first time! :x
  • @kalipepper congrats on the wonderful news!!! I'm having a girl as well! Baby #3

Mine is 'particular'. If I'm up and moving around or if I put my hand on my belly she settles down. I like to actually lay in bed 30 minutes before falling asleep because it takes her a bit to settle down.
    *Siggy Warning*

  • My baby is always active but is lazy at scans lol she's kicks here and there for them but mostly if she moves for them it's in the wrong direction . Then after scans home girl is all awake and what not lol
  • Our girl is super active also :) we got an extra ultrasound because she wouldn't quit moving. Sadly I can only feel her occasionally and it's still iffy, only a couple of really good kicks.
