Did you take Meds during your pregnancy?

ok I know I'm not a new mom so technically I'm probably not supposed to be here but I need "mommy" advice. I'm 9 weeks pregnant and the dr gave me Meds for morning sickness. I've been on diclegis since 6 weeks, have any of yall took this an had a healthy baby? I've posted it in my birth group but most Are in the same boat and you ladies have had your babies so please help end this worry of mine. Thank you!

Re: Did you take Meds during your pregnancy?

  • I took various nausea medications. Trust your doctor. They're typically quite good at what they do and are unfortunately very concerned with getting sued. I think your doctor wouldn't give you neausea meds if it wasn't appropriate. I also accidentally took ibuprofen when my husband handed me the wrong bottle in the dark. I ate lunchmeat and sushi. No one died. Baby is fine.

I was on 2 different anti nausea meds, a BP med, and headache meds. I also injured myself and had to take narcotic medications. My baby girl is perfectly healthy. I trusted my doctor and knew he wouldn't give me something I couldn't take. I too ate some sushi and turkey deli meat and am all good. Trust your doctor.
  • I took diclegis my entire pregnancy and am holding my perfectly healthy baby
  • If your OB cleared it-- then it's safe. There is no reason to worry. Find your relief. There is more to worry about with vomiting out of control (dehydration, & malnutrition) than taking an OB-prescribed drug.

  • Thank you ladies so much! I knew I needed to come here to get the answers I needed!! Makes me feel a million times better! I guess cause I've only been to one appt and it was same ol spill I just didn't feel the trust there yet. So thank you guys so so much!
  • I was on Lexapro, Propranolol, Oxycodone-Acetametaphin, Prenatal Vit,
--- for nausua we tired a ton of different things, I was VERY sick throughout the entire pregnancy, none of the prescription meds worked, but what did work was an acid reducer (CVS brand), i didn't have an issue with acid reflux or anything but it just happened to work great for nausea & vomiting for me!  -- I also tried the ginger chews (failed) but gingerale helped.  I tried the motion sickness wrist bands (tension on the pressure points in  your wrists) those did work a bit for me.

I was also on various sleep meds/supplements.

My baby was, and is, perfectly healthy :)

  • Yep I was on it almost my whole pregnancy. Had a healthy beautiful girl yesterday! Diclegis is just vitamin B6 (i believe) and Benedryl. You'll be fine. Get the relief!
