It seems everyone I tell my babies name too doesn't like it or has a hard time with it. The first time I heard this name I knew it would be my daughters name. Adilene James. James was my brothers name that passed away this past year. I figure we can call her AJ or Addy for short. I feel bad I am giving her a name no one likes, and it's not just a couple people, seems most people I tell it too don't like it. Thoughts?.....
Re: What if no one likes your baby name?
FWIW, this is why people advise you not to share your name choice, especially if it's a relatively unique name. We are naming our son Jack Bennett, which is pretty vanilla, so when we've told others their reactions have all been positive. But if we were naming him Guitar Hambone or Turnip Crawdaddy we probably would have kept it to ourselves until it was too late for anyone else to register their complaints! If people aren't giving you the reactions you want, then I'd maybe just keep the name on the DL until she arrives. Ultimately, there are only 2 opinions that matter in this discussion.

OP, I would probably tell everyone who "disliked" baby's name to F off, but, I'm also blunt.
That being said I think the name you chose is lovely and I'm not sure why everyone around you is so negative about it.
Other people's are opinions are just that.... opinions. Ultimately, if you think the name will suit your baby, go for it!
We have kept our baby name completely secret, which has been hard, but I don't care to hear opinions. I also like the element of surprise because my family will realize how meaningful the name is to is.
