I've had my dog for 5 years.. and ever since I got pregnant.. he's been a TERROR!! he's going around my house peeing on everything. Like he's marking the house so baby knows who's the man. Anyone having this problem and know how to get him to stop?
Yes I have this problem but have no idea how to fix it. My dog was so good before I got pregnant and then bam he's been eating and peeing on my stuff! I wish I knew what to do!
My dog is doing the opposite. She's still well behaved, but she wants to lay her head on my stomach constantly. She has to be on me and paws at me if I'm not giving her enough attention...likes she's jealous already.
My one dog is doing the same thing just laying with her head and paws on my belly threw the day. I just tell her the babies in there and she just looks at me. Lol but I think it's just a protective thing and also I think since she is low dog on the totem pole here she's just trying to be dominate over the little nugget. Lol but otherwise all three of my dogs have been acting normal since we have found out I was pregnant .
My dog sleeps on my belly.. I can't peel him off me.. if I'm home.. he's on me. But when I'm not home.. he's peeing everywhere. I'll pick up some Milan books and see if it helps. I'm thinking about putting a diaper on him when I'm not home. Oh.. and he's a boy dog and fixed.. so marking should be out of his system.
I recently heard a tip to help stop dogs from marking. It sounds kind of silly and gross, but it might work! I haven't personally tried it.
The tip was to get a bandana or collar a little wet with the dog's urine and then put it around his neck. That way he thinks the scent is already there, and he won't mark.
Weird but maybe worth a shot if you're at your wits end
I had this same problem with our cat two years ago when I was pregnant with our daughter. Our cat had to go live with a friend unfortunately because after trying everything and multiple trips to the vet, we couldn't get it stopped. Of course our cat was fairly difficult even on a good day and I think a dog is much easier to deal with.
My dog is pretty bad all the time basically So I am not sure whether I should be dispensing any advice. But here it goes: He's pretty well potty trained but likes to destroy tissues/tp, basically anything laying around. You walk into a room and it looks like it snowed! He's small so the damage is more annoying less harmful. He's also taken to being pretty mean to our cat. Poor cat can't even come up and snuggle because the dog is so territorial.
I've made a more concerted effort to walk him and exercise him around the house. It seems to make him less destructive and jerky. Maybe more exercise is the answer?
When we're not home, our dogs are fenced in our family room/ kitchen area which is big so they run around. Also we have a dog walker that takes them out every day. All in all they get like 5 walks a day. So I don't think it's that. He's just like crazy about the baby. He has anxiety though. Maybe anxiety meds for dogs?
Just because they are fixed doesn't mean they will not mark. We adopted. 4 yr old male fixed pit bull last summer with a marking issue. We finally has it under control until I found out I was pregnant. Now he must pee on my stuff. We are also remodeling the house so I am hoping once the lingering odor is gone ao will his habit to pee.
