Bored on Bedrest

I've been on home bedrest since March 24th, and I am 33wks 2days with twins. It's not strict so I can still walk around just a little bit, but this has been so hard! Anyone else on bedrest? What kind of things do you do to keep busy? I'm pretty much over watching tv and the babies room is all set

Wow mama, that is hard. So glad things are ready for LO. Is there some kind of craft that you like? Maybe look on line and find something and then have a friend pick up the necessary items? I am sure there is something you would be good at, besides making twins that is! :) Hugs sweet mama, may the days fly by and your delivery be easy!

Here are some interesting articles you can read online if that might be helpful!
  • I try to get out every day at home it was even just on the balcony, it makes a world of difference. I'm at my parents now since I was put on stricter rest and I can't lift or take care of my son and my hubby works long hours. They have a back yard and a porch so I sit out there. I have fair skin so it can't be for too long but even 10 mins and I feel like a new woman.
  • I'm not on bedrest, but have been off work since early March....and I'm soooo bored! So I feel your pain. Everyone keeps telling me to enjoy it of course, but I need a hobby besides shopping :-?

I think the phrase "enjoy it" really gets me ticked off because I'm not off work because I "enjoy" sitting at home being miserable and fighting migraines. ! Bah.

Omg yes!!! And then you have people say "I'm so jealous" like it's a vacation or something.
  • I'm not sure what I would rather be doing. I'm miserable at work and I'm miserable at home so I guess I might as well just keep on working. I cried for like 20 minutes last night just because I was so miserable laying down and now that I'm up I'm still miserable so either way I lose hahaha. But she will be worth it :)
  • I feel bad for you ladies stuck on bed rest, I know if I had to do that I would go nuts.  I wish that I could be at home, off work, but not on bed rest because I have so much to do at home!  Very wishful thinking I know!  Good luck ladies we're in the home stretch!
    :-*
  • I'm in my 33 weeks and on a bed rest too-due to the dilation of the cervix and a minor contraction.

I'm so over watching TV too, Netflix was cool for like 3 days.... I think I have read every baby book at the library too. This bedrest is tough on me and our bank account because I can't stop shopping! It's baby related stuff but still not helping.
Are you able to go out to lunch or get a pedicure? My mom took me out the other day that really helped!

I've read every book that's out right now it seems like. Tv is boring. I need to get out of the house...... But it's rained every day this week. Boo!
  • I am on a bed rest in the hospital so I really can't do much just read or watch TV. I did some baby shopping on line and pay bills....the only good thing is I'll have csection on Monday and after that I just have to stay here for another few days (4). I'm hoping that my babies will only have to stay in the hospital for few days.
  • @jjvanwagner25 nope I can't even do that! The only time I get out is for my weekly doctor appts. But I am going to our friends wedding on Friday but only the ceremony

Oh I'm sorry :( it will be over soon and all worth it!
  • I'm on "modified bedrest" but I also have a 23 month old... So I have spent lots of time sitting on the floor with him reading and playing with his trucks. We've also both watched more TV than Id care to admit. Poor baby. I know he wants to run around at the park but I just can't be chasing him like would be required. Today though we got in the car and drove around on a truck hunting expedition! It was actually a lot of fun. He's really into trucks right now. We took pictures of all the different ones we saw so he can look at them later and show Daddy when he gets home from work. I got some strange looks from some of the construction sites we parked next to. lol But that's okay. We were having fun. We also drove to Sonic and ate lunch in the car before coming home for a nap. I'm having to get creative with these toddler activities!

I just got out of the hospital after a three week stint for PPROM where they did an ultrasound on Monday and realized my water had resealed. I was tranferred 2 hours from my home to a hospital that has a children's hospital and NICU attached to it. So I only had visits from my husband and daughter on weekends. It was awful! But I survived. I am home now and on modified rest. The concern is my blood pressure and what it will do with activity. As I was on strict bedrest in the hospital and was put on high blood pressure meds right after I got there (that is what caused the passing of the large clot and PPROM). So we will see how this "modified rest goes." The doctors warned me I may end up on strict bedrest again. While in the hospital I talked on the phone, read a book, and watched on Netflix the whole series of United States of Tara. Totally vulger and not what I would normally watch but pretty entertaining!
