Easiest Swaddlers

any advice on the easiest swaddlers? I have tried to master the swaddle with blankets but fail terribly. My little girl moves her hands and feet constantly. I have a few Velcro swaddlers but they are too big. She is 6 days old and about 8 pounds.
Thanks!

Re: Easiest Swaddlers

  • I use the Swaddle Me's (Velcro). My LO was 7.5 lbs when we started. He was born at 8lbs 9 oz though. With my DDs I used Miracle Blankets. My littlest DD was 5 lbs 15 oz. They are a little trickier but work great.

  • I have used the swaddleme and the halo swaddles. I think the swaddleme is much easier. We are only using the halo swaddle because the one we have is for his weight (6lbs 9oz). The swaddleme we have can't be used until 7 lbs.
  • We like the Halo brand, as they give easy access to the diaper without having to undo the whole thing.

The miracle blanket is awesome! No Velcro (I hated the Velcro with the halo swaddles) and gets a nice tight wrap!
  • We have 2 Aiden & Anais Easy Swaddles. I find them more difficult to use than just a swaddle blanket.
  • The Ollie swaddle is amazing. They are a little expensive, but it is size adjustable and you can leave the baby swaddled when you change their diaper (this makes it worth the price). It would be more effective for my little guy if he liked his arms swaddled, but as soon as I wrap him up in it he is instantly calmer.

I like the halo - have used with all 3 kids
    DS born 10/25/11 **  DD born 6/24/13 **  DS born 4/20/15

The miracle blanket!! They sleep so good with it!
  • I would highly recommend the woombie. It zips up and they still have a little bit of movement. My daughter sleeps like a champ with it. You can get the newborn or preemie size and it should work for you.

I use the Aden and Anais swadlers successfully. I find them easy to get on and off during my sleep haze in the middle of the night and they keep DS's arms on lockdown.
  • The swadleme brand is my favorite
  • I actually don't like the plain swaddled because they make my baby roll like a sausage. She can't stay on her back with them. I recommend the halo sleep and swaddles. I don't think my baby has worn anything else since leaving the hospital

I love the swaddle pods. You just have to zip the baby in.
