Symptoms, no symptoms and related questions - 5/4

May the fourth be with you today!

How's everyone feeling?

I have a new symptom - itchy feet. Pretty sure due to swelling (also new!)

Also had to say bye to my wedding ring yesterday when I almost couldn't get it off :( I replaced it with a different larger ring for now.

Re: Symptoms, no symptoms and related questions - 5/4

  • @hoodoll82 I took mine off on Thursday, I was super bummed about it! I decided to put it on the chain I wear with my Saint Gerard medal so I'm still wearing it, even if it's not on my finger anymore.

As far as symptoms go, I had a really restless sleep last night. I've been sleeping really well for the most part so it was only a matter of time before this started, but still not fun. Also, can my belly get any bigger?! I know the answer is yes, but it's hard to imagine!

Anyone else superstitious about full moons and going into labor? I'm paranoid lol I'm 35 weeks but still is it true more ladies go into labor on a full moon? Other than that I've got another boost of energy! Hope everyone has a great week!

@mellymar I also feel hungry but can't eat as much. When I do I feel so full and sick. It's really annoying!

I'm tired and feel sore today. I think I overdid it this weekend, and I'm paying for it today. The great news is we have leftovers for dinner tonight so I'm going to go home and put my feet up as soon as I can.
  • Last night I had the hardest time sleeping, and now I am going to be a super crabby 1st grade teacher. I was waking up constantly to pee and then I woke up with terrible stomach pain and cramping. I got up and walked around, which helped it go away. However, as soon as I tried to go back to sleep it started hurting again. It hurt the worst when I was laying on my right side, so I switched to my left, but it never fully went away. This morning I felt super nauseous and struggled to eat breakfast, I am trying to drink a ton of water and had some tea to help my stomach.

I am ready to meet baby!
  • Laying in bed with a headache, took the day off work because of our baby education class tonight. I woke up around 3 am to go pee and while I was out of bed my husband must have moved to my side of the bed. I fell back into my spot and my right temple hit his elbow (which he does not remember) but sent me into tears. I cried for hours and now I feel awful :(
  • I have decided that I just *thought* I used to get up to pee a lot a night.... It's now past that point. It's ridiculous. On top of that, I have horrible sciatic nerve pain when sleeping. Thankful I didn't have the triple threat last night with the usual heart burn.

Home stretch ladies! We can do it!!! :))
  • I am feeling SO MUCH better lately! Although I'm scared because Baby has dropped, it has brought so much relief. I can breath better, I am eating like crazy, and I have more energy. The downside = I need to pee ALL NIGHT. Unfortunately, this means not an hour goes by that I sleep soundly. Like PP said, I'm also having itchy extremities (hands & feet).

We're down to the end- woo woo!

With the heat comes the swelling. I too have been having itchy hands, feet, and legs. LO dropped about a month ago, so I've been able to breath a little easier. I'm sleeping decent at night, but I'm tired ALL day long like in the first trimester.

We are in the final stretch!! Have a lovely day, ladies!

I wish this whole "the baby dropped" thing would be true for me..... Ahhh! Pretty sure his head is still in my right rib cage....

    I'm with you!
  • was wondering if yous could help feel like crap been having awful back pain up the right side of my back went to hospital they kept me in as thought it uti and treated me but nothing changed just got worse so went back to hospital and they now think I have renal colic (kidney stones) has anyone had this b4 have to go for a scan on thursday on my kidneys to be sure 34+4.
  • I've had the usual swelling here and there in the past, but I have no idea what happened these past two days have been terrible! I woke up in the middle of the night with my hands throbbing and hurting really bad anytime I moved my fingers :( I know swelling is common, but since this is such a drastic change I called my doctor and they want me to get checked out tomorrow morning.

I also can't eat too much like @mellymar mentioned. It sucks eating something you really like, taking a few bites and then calling it quits! Hope all you ladies feel better! Few more weeks to go!

I am at the stage where my hips hurt when I'm laying on my side. I remember this stage from my first pregnancy and it's awful for sleeping. Hips are achy and I wake up to pee or to flip sides I'm sleeping on every couple of hours. I can't sleep on my back or stomach and now sleeping on my sides hurts. 6 more weeks till c-section!!

  • Here come the emotions!  I've been pretty good all pregnancy holding my tongue and my temper, but I guess the hormones paired with the lack of sleep and the discomfort and swelling is a recipe for disaster.  I'm a ticking time bomb and get upset making the silliest decisions all for entirely selfish reasons.  The word compromise does not seem to be in my vocabulary.

I'm struggling today. I was up most of the night peeing or trying to get in a comfortable sleeping position. BH contractions are starting to get painful and I can definitely tell baby is super low. My pelvic area and hips hurt soooo bad when I'm standing or sitting. There's just a lot of pressure and I just wanna crawl into bed and sleep/cry the next 5 weeks away. DH is convinced baby is coming early so he's been in super alert mode, which is pretty cute cause although he's nervous I can also see the excitement in his eyes every time he asks if I'm okay. Officially 35 weeks today, just a few more weeks.......
  • @hannahmcvea2 I don't have any experience with kidney stones (tho it sounds like they don't know for sure that's what is causing the pain until tomorrow?) but my mom had one once. She said it was really painful, and if that's what you have, I'm sorry. I think all she was able to do was take some pain control, drink water, and wait (and you being pregnant can't even take pain control - sucks). I feel like there was someone else in the June board who was having kidney stone issues, but I don't remember who it was, sorry. Good luck

  • I normally just lurk but...

I'm 32 weeks with a previous history of preterm labor. I've been having a lot of contractions for several weeks. They are getting more painful and even wake me up at night. I ended up in labor and delivery last week to moniter the contractions and make sure they weren't progressing me any. They haven't thus far. I was then put on "modified bedrest".

Today at my appointment with my midwife she suggested that I take a magnesium supplement nightly and wear a maternity support band when I'm up and walking around. These things are supposed to help with an iritable uterus.

Has anyone had success with either of these two things? No one I know has been asked to take magnesium. I wonder if maybe it's just a placebo effect to calm me down? I'm rather stressed about the who preterm idea again.

  • @SarahBaby87 I take magnesium daily, but mines for migraines. I'd say it helps me allot.

My annoying symptom for today is lower back pain. OB didn't seem concerned this morning when I talked to him about it, but I guess if it gets worse I'll just go in and get checked. I'll just keep drinking lots of water and hope for the best.

My hubby does the same thing. Every time I move he asks if I'm okay.. Makes me laugh
  • I had a new, weird baby movement today. I think it's his heel but it's like he's kicking to a beat. Definitely not hiccups, he's head down. Anyone had this happen? My head tells me it's something crazy like a seizure. I'm sure it's normal though.

ETA: how do you deal with it?
i ate 4 inches of a quiznos sub and once we got home i just wanna curl up and die. i just feel internally crowded and blah.

@amabarne I felt this seizure like movement in the middle of the night the other night! I wasn't sure what it was either.
  • Accidentally bought 1 ply instead of 2 at the grocery store...... My one hemorrhoid is not happy.
  • @amabarne @klkonwi mine does this pretty frequently, too. I'm not worried about it; my OB always says that baby and I look like we're in great shape and everything's been smooth sailing thus far... that being said, my mom does have epilepsy. Maybe I'll ask about this at my appointment on Friday.

  • @amabarne @klkonwi I've had this exact thing and it makes me really nervous. Yesterday I kept trying to poke it so it would stop because it kept happening. It was almost like movement at the rate of my pulse (it was not my heartbeat or a vessel) happening for like 5-10 minutes. If it's all of us it can't be bad...that's what I will tell myself.
TTC: 1/2014 BFP: 9/24 EDD: 6/8/2015 Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.

Yes. That's what is so nice about this forum. If it's happening to all of us it's more reassuring!!! @dancegurl1118
  • Well I hope it's a good thing that it's happening to several of us! Definitely freaked me out today. @dancegurl1118 @karaelaine1991 @klkonwi I want to know if anyone learns anything about it!

I've also felt these super jerky, rapid movements. I also thought they felt like a seizure. We can't ALL OF US be having babies with seizures. Honestly, I wrote them down to the equal of the movements my cats make in their sleep with their paws or muscle groups sometimes. When they're totally just passed the eff out and they have these jerky muscle spasms or something. Fun's whole body used to twitch sometimes. That's what I thought was happening in there

Love the pet analogy. So basically LO was "running in his sleep" lol.

This baby is hanging out so low in my pelvis, I think he could fall out while I'm walking! Lol

I'm 33w6d and have also been feeling the fast jerky movements mentioned above. So relieved this is common.
