Kate and William had their little girl- what a cute baby!
Is anyone afraid they might steal your baby girl name and then EVERYONE will use that name this year?! Haha! If anyone was planning on a little Diana, that one seems to be a favorite guess!
We have the name Charlotte picked out for a girl so I'm constantly checking to see if she's named her yet!! Even if she does name her that, we will still name our daughter Charlotte and call her Charlie for a nickname (highly doubt they will call her Princess Charlie) so I think we'll be okay I'm not sure how high in popularity the name would go up either, I'm in Canada and I don't think the name George went up too much in popularity here after Prince George was born! Have to wait and see I guess
I really love the name Charlotte for a girl as well, and then we would call her Charlie. I'm so nervous they are going to name her Charlotte and it is going to be really popular all of the sudden!
I like the name Charlotte too! But my hubbie already nixed it It's #7 on the list of top girls names in the US in 2015 so that's a bit too popular for me anyway...I do love it though!
@aah1013 I know! She looked great after having her. It drives me nuts! I has so many IVs that I was blown up and do swollen I was almost in recognizable. Fun things to come!
The name is Charlotte!!!!!!!!!! Ugh I am so disappointed I could cry (hormones)! We have wanted the name Charlotte for a long time if we have a girl and now I know the whole world is going to start using the name Charlotte! Way to ruin my Monday royal family!
it was already really popular... number 13 last year. I think we can all blame sex and the city. I had it on my list for a while but crossed it off when I realized how popular it was.
I love the name Cambri and it's one of two names we have settled on. After we decided on the name I was joking with my SO that if they have a princess we def have to name the baby Cambri after the Princess of Cambridge.
I was another Charlotte/Charlie planner. I'm now thinking maybe we'll just name her Charlie! Although the fact that there are two others on this thread makes me nervous..
Hubby and I agreed that we will still use the name but call her Charlie my name is Kirstien but I've gone by Kirsti my whole life. Love the name too much to pass up on it!
If you already had the name Charlotte picked out, use it! It's a pretty name and there are a lot worse things you could name your kid.
I've had the name Autumn picked out for a girl ever since I was pregnant with DS. I thought it was a less common name, but I keep hearing it. Oh well, it's more popular than I thought, but that's the name I've had picked out so . . .
Also, I read an article earlier that said the names of the royal babies actually decline in popularity because people don't want to be seen as choosing the bar because Prince George or Princess Charlotte had it first.
Pretty name. Simple and Classic. Very good that they used Diana too.
Kate did look amazing. If only we could all have a glam squad to do our hair n makeup at the hospital. Although it did make me think that I should buy a pretty outfit or dress to wear home from the hospital. Nice clothes always make me feel prettier.
I'm having a boy but we were leaning towards Alice, and I really liked Charlotte. But I would have considered changing it/not using in the future if they had chosen Alice
@nsaid4u, YES to the glam squad I'm sure if I brought a nice dress to wear home from the hospital I'd end up wearing the yoga pants I wore when I came in, haha!
I think that's a perfect name for princess. Love that they used 'Diana.'
@nsaid4u great idea. I think I might bridge comfort with cute and just get a little shawl or wrap to wear over my spandex and milk stained t-shirt for the hospital. Anthropologie has great stuff and I can talk myself into it when it goes on sale
Charlotte was my #1 girl name!! I don't know the gender of my baby yet(June 5th!) but now I'm wondering if people might stray away from Charlotte in worry that it will become super popular? Maybe I'll have a boy so I don't have to make the decision on whether or not to go with my favorite name, even if it means my baby will have the same name as a royal baby.
I've loved the name Charlotte for years!!! I'm so sad! I was already disappointed as is rose in popularity, now this! My sister thinks it's silly to switch because of it, but my friend texted me that I shouldn't use it anymore. I'm not going to decide on it until I find out boy or girl.
I'm also feeling so sad they named her Charlotte! I called my husband almost in tears because people would think we'd name our baby after the princess but that's not the case, we thought of it weeks ago and both love it. I haven't been able to get the name out of my head and if we are having a girl it was a strong possibility that'd be her name. I'm hoping that since baby won't be here until Oct that if we named our daughter Charlotte there wouldn't be much association since the news would be almost 6 months old. Or if we have a boy then we don't have to worry about it:)
Re: Royal Baby
Stupid royals!
