Kicks/movement

How is everyone keeping an eye on babies well being ? And how do you do so? My midwife said that the pattern is when he is most active (for my son it's at night ) and if he's not active around the normal times then I should contact hospital and I shouldn't count kicks as it dose not justify anything ... Someone help!? -From the UK

Re: Kicks/movement

  • I think you're stressing for no reason. If you're feeling an active baby there's no reason to worry. If you notice a big decrease in movement you should do a kick count at a normally active time. If you're not getting 10 kicks in an hour then time to call the midwife!

  • Ditto. Carrying a life is stressful. Period. And this is my second time around. If I'm worried I contact the doc. Your fears are valid, but u can't let them drive u crazy.
  • My OB said kick counts aren't really necessary. I know my little guy has quiet times and active times. It also depends on what you're doing. If you're relaxed and quiet, you'll probably feel the baby moving around more. If you are busy and active, probably won't feel them as much.

10 kicks an hour is the norm that the doctor told me. Sometimes I get so busy I forget if baby has moved lol. At night he sleeps with me so I stopped being nervous not feeling movement then.

Im 30 weeks pregnant and my little one never stops moving like he/she is having a non stop party. Dont know when my bubba actually sleeps, it hurts sometime its not light nudges anymore, its the agressive rolls, punches and kicks which I can see come out my stomach.

My OB said counting kicks will stress me out and stress is exactly what he doesn't want me under! If I don't feel my baby for a day, I'll call the dr.
  • I'm a FTM & I'm pretty sure my baby is going to come out a pro soccer player ;)
When I talked to my mom she said I would only kick her once a day & that was my norm. My sister would kick her all the time. I think it just depends on your baby's routine.
