When shall I go to the dr?

Shall I wait to miss another period? I'm still in shock and figure the later the better?

IMO the sooner the better. If you've already missed one period and your tests are coming up positive within three minutes then you're good to go. I scheduled my first appt last week and the earliest they can get me in is 5.19. I've been taking prenatal vitamins since mid April and I gave up my soda already.

  • You probably won't go until your 8-10 weeks for your first appointment, if there are no issues, so you still have some time for it to sink in or whatever.
  • Like PP said, its better to go sooner than later. They take blood, run tests, and check your overall health to ensure that there isn't anything they need to take precautions about. Also, I know even with my second pregnancy, I still have questions and I would rather hear them from my OB than from Dr. Google :)

  • I agree with PP. I called my doctor the day after my BFP and they wanted me to come in for bloodwork. I probably won't go in for first appointment until 8 weeks.

I would call now to inquire about an appointment. Sometimes it takes awhile to get an appointment.

Call now and set up an appointment. With my first pregnancy they schedule the first appointment at around 8 weeks. As I have been having trouble getting/ maintaining pregnancies my OB has me come in to do some early labs this week, but no appointment yet (same OB as my previous pregnancies) .
