19+2 Still no movement?

I'm 19 weeks + 2 and still not felt any movement? Is this normal or should I be concerned?
It seems most people I speak to, say I should have felt something by now so u can't help but worry.

Thank you

It is normal. I started feeling movement with my first around 20 wks. During my first pregnancy I felt the same way. If doctor doesn't say anything is wrong should be no reason to worry.

You could have an anterior placenta which would cushion all of the baby's movement and stop you from feeling it so early. Do you have an ultrasound at 20 weeks? They should be able to tell you then where your placenta is located. I was only feeling very small movements around 19 weeks and at that point I wasn't even sure if it was baby ... now at 21 weeks I'm feeling movement every day multiple times a day and it's obvious.
  • I have my scan on 8th May so not too long to wait fortunately. This is my first baby so I don't really know what to expect and people just seem to like making me worry.

    Thanks though girlies.
  • I'm 21w3d and other than a couple twitches felt v little until this week. No anterior placenta and all was well on anatomy scan so I just waited. Regular thumps started after 21 weeks.
  • I'm about 19 weeks and still nothing. Don't worry!

19 weeks +3 and I have not felt anything yet either. (One or two days I maybe had a flutter but it could have been something else!) Dont listen to other people that make you worry. I have been given a lot of bad advice and opinions over these 19 weeks. Hope we get to feel those baby kicks soon!
  • Ditto the anterior placenta. I had that with my first and I didn't feel her until after 20 weeks, and didn't really feel her a lot until into the 3rd trimester. I don't have an anterior placenta this time, and I'm only feeling little flutters. The kicks will come soon.

From what I've read, a FTM should feel the around 16 to 22 weeks. Unless your doctor is concerned, I would not worry about it. They have way more experience with pregnancies. Everyone's body is different and every pregnancy is different.

  • Baby 3 here and have an anterior placenta and am 19+ weeks and haven't felt much other than 1-2 times last week which could have been gas ;-) don't worry until the dr says you should be counting kicks.
  • I'm almost 20 weeks and every time I think I feel something it could just as easily be gas... My doctor said I probably won't actually feel anything until 23 weeks.
  • I have a high anterior placenta, I was feeling really tiny vibration feelings from about 17 weeks low down, but only when I really concentrated & only at 10.30am, then from 19+6 I started to feel my first proper nudges, and once they start they're quite frequent and it's lovely, it's like you go from nothing to everything in a couple of days. I wouldn't be worried I got to the panicky stage around week 19 because lots of people were saying "oh you'll be feeling baby by now then...." But my older sister was the one to calm me down telling me everyone's different & you'd know if something wasn't right yourself. Enjoy the peace & quiet - soon you'll be being kicked awake at 5am or booted when you lean forward when your eating your tea - if your anything like me!! :))
  • I think it's normal. I am 19+1, and I think I just felt a tiny little kick for the first time yesterday, but if I wasn't paying close attention and staying completely still, I'd easily have missed it. I'm sure you'll feel it soon :)
  • Totally normal. Im 19+4, and only yesterday did I feel ANYTHING that could have remotely been a kick. 2 little jabs, and then 2 mins later, another set. You'll know it when it happens, but don't stress over it not happening yet. :)
  • I'm 20+2 and still haven't felt anything!
