My doctor gave me a list of medications that was safe to take while pregnant for different things. I'd call and ask your doctor's nurse or check with the pharmacist when you go to buy medication to be safe.
I have this same problem right now. I went to my doc today and she thinks it's a sinus infection, with perhaps a side of viral bronchitis. Woohoo!
Good news is, I've got some amoxycillin to clear out the sinus infection and was cleared to take Delsym for the cough--the latter has already been great today and I am hoping means I will actually get to sleep tonight!
Call your OB, they should have a list, tylenol and tylenol cold are okay on my list and the regular robitussin (no alcohol or add on one). I at the start of a cold add in vitamin C & D. Got the OK from OB for that also. It is rough being sick pregno and not able to take much. Hope you feel better soon.
I just got over a cold and highly recommend K cup Vitamin Burst Tea if you have a Keurig. It is soothing, tastes good and is packed with vitamin C. I make it hot rather than cold.
It's a cold! I think taking anything over the counter is a waste. Well at least for me, none of that stuff ever works. Just ride out the few days with plenty of rest, fluids, and maybe some decaf hot tea.
Agree with pp about just taking care of yourself, drinking warm liquids, and taking hot showers. We have colds too. Keep having to remind myself to rest. Feel better!!!!
Re: What can I do about a cold?
