Caden Rhodes was born on Thursday 4/23/15 at 11:18am. 3lbs 12oz at 32weeks 6 days.
My pregnancy/ birth story: When I was 23 weeks I went through PTL and had an emergency Cerclage due to an insufficient cervix. I was put on modified bed rest and had weekly progesterone shots. At 32 weeks I went into L&D for cramping and bleeding. The Drs removed my cerclage and it was a matter of waiting. Labor stopped for a bit when I was dilated at 5cm 100% effaced and the baby was stationed at -1. Then a few days later, I experienced heavy bleeding and severe cramping. I planned for a VBAC but ended up with an emergency c-section since the baby's heart rate dropped. Turns out I had a placental abruption.
Even though this pregnancy and birth wasn't ideal, I am so grateful to have a happy and thriving baby. This journey has taught me a lot about flexibility and patience. It's been a long difficult road but at the end of it, I got to experience a great love for a second time. I'm not really a religious person but I firmly believe that God (or the creator or the universe) only gives you what you can handle. In the meantime, Caden is in the NICU and I am savoring every little moment I can with him.
Brannick Louis born this morning at 5:22am. He is 5lb 11 oz and 5 weeks early! He is so perfect! He is spending some time in the NICU due to low blood sugar but hopefully he will be out soon
Tinsley Adine was born on May 4th at 1:01 pm. She weighed in at 5lbs 9oz and was 18 inches long. She was 5 weeks early, so she's hanging out in the NICU for some feeding support and an IV to keep everything regulated.
I posted photos and her birth story in a separate post entitled Star Wars baby. May the fourth be with you!
Juliet was born at 4pm today via c-section at 36 weeks. She weighed 5lb3oz and was 17.5" long at birth. She is a little rockstar and is currently rooming in with us!! We haven't been able to breastfeed yet but we are trying!!
Tristram was born on May 4th at 3pm, 5lbs 12oz, 18 inches long. Beautiful natural birth. He's five weeks early and in the NICU to help assist him to breathe. Strong little jedi!
Nathaniel was born at 36 weeks 4 days on 5-10-15. My water broke unexpectedly May 9th and since I wasn't 37 weeks my planned home birth had to be moved to a hospital. My midwife labored with me along with my husband for 32.5 hours. Still a blessing and gift from God at 7 lbs 4 oz and 19.5" long AND completely healthy. Perfect Mother's Day gift!
Another Mother's Day baby to report! Also had water break at 36 weeks 4 days, no contractions all day so labor was augmented with cytotec and our Eliana Joy came swiftly after that! 5 lbs 8 oz, 18 inches long and so beautiful! Working on establishing breastfeeding but otherwise perfectly healthy! We all are so in love!
Saylor Aryah Sands May 8th 2015 4lbs 0 oz Born 34 w 1 day via csection due to low amniotic fluid and IUGR
Saylor is currently in the NICU dealing with multiple respiratory issues. She will probably be in there for a while. We haven't gotten to hold her since she was born, which has been really hard and us both, but hoping her condition improves and we are able to love on her some very soon!
Thoughts and prayers to all the NICU moms out there, this is tough stuff!!
Naomi Kate and Julian Cruz were born on May 13 at 11:20pm and 11:21pm. Little Naomi is 4 lbs and Julian is 6lbs ( they have Not given us exact weights yet) I had a c section at 36 weeks due to preeclampsia ( that was diagnosed today) I haven't got to hold them yet because they are hanging out in the NICU at the moment- but they look perfect and I can't wait to kiss them.
Allow me to introduce Eleanor Leeann! She arrived yesterday 5/14/15 at 5:03 PM Joey Gladstone style (cut, it, out!) she weighs in at 7lbs 14 oz and is 21 inches long at 35 weeks 6 days! She had super low blood sugar when she was extracted but that has sense been remedied. The incredible staff is working on maintaining her oxygen levels so that the CPAP machine can be removed. We were team green so we're so excited to finally meet her and to put a name to her precious face!
A couple days ago now my team green twins surprised us by breaking twin A's water. So on May 13 (34w4d) at 12:18pm little Conner Detlef Friede was born, weighing 4lb15oz, and at 12:21 his brother Ryan Patrick Friede was born, weighing 5lb2oz! They are both in the NICU at different hospitals which is so hard but we are now able to hold them for some skin-to-skin! They were both taken off CPAP yesterday but still need a little help breathing. I love them so much. Prayers to other NICU parents as it's a rough process.
We will be induced three weeks early at 37 weeks this next week on may 21st due to my body getting sicker with gestational diabetes and cholestasis as well as my amniotic fluid being over at 20+ ...i go twice weekly for non stress tests and ultrasounds and so far baby has been a happy healthy girl! Prayers appreciated! Blessings, chasi
May 13th at 37w1d Hensleigh Grace came into the world. She just couldn't wait to meet mommy and daddy. She weighed 7lbs and 19 inches long. Doing great and just getting the hang of breastfeeding. We are overjoyed and we were team green. When my husband said its a girl all the waiting was worth it. A truly wonderful, amazing moment. Tears of pure joy pour down my face as I write this! I love being a mama!
Meet Ava Grace who graced us with her presence on May 13th at 34 weeks and 3 days 5lbs 10 oz. Apparently she just didn't want to wait to see us any longer. My water ruptured at 30 1/2 weeks. I was on hospital bedrest for 3 weeks (with a c-section scheduled at 34 weeks 1 day) and then was sent home when my water resealed to hopefully make it to 37 weeks. Well my water started leaking again and she was delivered immediately via c-section. She came out breathing and crying like a champ and is now breastfeeding exclusively like a champ! Couldn't be more proud! We get to go home tomorrow
Look who's here Charlotte Rae 4 lbs 15 oz and Madison Mae 5lbs 6oz. Absolutely perfect! Been battling with blood sugar issues but just supplementing with formula and breast milk.
Zoe Frances was born May 18 at 37 weeks and 4 day. She is a tiny little thing only 5 lbs and 12 oz, 18 inches long and healthy. Everything was smooth and labor was as quick and painless as one could hope for!
Cyrus Winthrop born 3.5 weeks early on 5/15/15 at 4:04 pm. Our beautiful little palindrome baby weighed 7lbs 10 ounces. We had an amazing natural birth - 3 pushes in 3 minutes and he came wooshing into this world. Chubby, delicious. So happy.
A little late but Adalynn Michelle and Aria Matilda were born on May 16th at only 35weeks. We had some sugar issues in the beginning but we're home now and doing extremely well! )
Emmeline Kate arrived at 37 weeks, 5 days on Tuesday, May 19 at 1:52 am. She was 7 lb, 1 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. We came home today and she's doing great!
