Heavy brown discharge at 17 weeks

I've been having some reddish-brownish spotting for a couple of weeks now. This morning it was a thick red-brown discharge and a lot of it (gross!). I don't have painful cramps accompanying it but some cramping, discomfort and a heavy feeling down there. Anyone experience this?

    Have you contacted your doctor already? No experience, but I don't think a call to the MD would hurt.

    You should call your doc it sounds like a sch bleed or smtn to do with your placenta . call sooner then later due to the reddish blood just to make sure ur OK!this is smtn common during pregnancy it scared the lights out of me but everything turned out fine I was placed on pelvic rest for a week and now I'm back to normal!

    Thanks for your advice, ladies. I phoned my doctor's office yesterday and they immediately ordered an ultrasound. Both babies had good heart rates and were moving around in there. My OB says I'm bleeding but doesn't know the source of it as my cervix is closed so he'll follow up next week. Nice to get some reassurance from the ultrasound!

    Go in to an urgent care and get checked for a UTI. That happened to me at 13 weeks and after some antibiotics I was good as new!!
