Help is this tea safe!!!?

I've been having horrible all day sickness and vomiting- I opted to just take the natural route and avoid taking any prescription medication since I'm already just about 12 weeks, my doctor recommended ginger tea as a remedy and this is what I got- however now looking back over it, it has a few other ingredients... Just wondering if anyone has any input before I try it out

  • If your doctor told you ginger tea is ok, then I'd say youre in the clear. I love that brand, btw. I drank their red raspberry leaf tea in my 3rd tri and the Mother's Milk tea while I was BF'ing. I plan on doing so again.

  • Which ingredient are you worried about?

I'm concerned mainly about the blackberry leaf
  • A quick google search:
Blackberry leaves are a strong stimulant and can bring about uterine contractions – never drink blackberry leaf tea when pregnant or when trying to become pregnant.
  • Try earth mama angel baby morning wellness tea. All natural and safe while pregnant.

    Thanks will check it out!
  • I had no idea and I'm big into drinking tea! Thank you! I just checked my green tea ginger by them and it doesn't have any (fyi it does have some caffine). Thankfully none of my teas have any, but does anyone know, off the top of their head, if there's anything else I should look for?
  • I drank ginger tea every other day during the first trimester, it worked wonders. I was so tired of drinking sweet ginger ale (does not really have ginger in it anyway!) so I decided to try the hot tea with a little honey. I get the caffeine free! I enjoy it, it can be a bit spicy but taste good to me.
  • There are any number of herbal teas on the market to stay away from during pregnancy.  I would recommend researching all the ingredients in your tea before buying them.  Maybe research a day or two before your grocery trip so you know exactly which teas you can choose from ahead of time.  I'm off a lot of my favorite teas right now because of the herbs in them.  You can also make your own ginger tea pretty easily by boiling ginger in hot water and adding other flavors to your taste.  That way you know exactly what's in it.

  • I've been drinking Pukka's 3-mint tea which is very good for nausea and from what ingredients are in it, it's very safe. The only possible side effect is if you have heartburn, it might make it worse, but other than that, Pukka 3-Mint is the way to go.

Also worth noting is that anything with Licorice anything in it is possibly not safe. I found that pretty much every tea my MIL had, had licorice stuff in it and I was just like whhhhy??... but the 3 mint was fine :) Wish you well xx

Green tea can inhibit the absorption of folic acid. And we all know how important that is for preventing neural tube defects.
  • Going through all my teas and I've lost them all now for one ingredient or another! :(( I don't like coffee anymore and I need some caffeine! I guess a trip to the store is in order.
