Does any one know, if you are team green and not finding out the sex until birth would the ultrasound tech still note the sex on your file? I'm asking to prepare for my ultrasound. They offer a DVD of ultrasound, but I am a little concerned we will be able to see the sex clearly on the DVD if the tech has to find it to put it in my file. I love surprises, but I am a terrible snoop.
TIA

This can differ between offices. But what i commonly hear is that the tech will need to examine the sex organs and note that everything looks fine, but they will not note which organs the baby has. i wanted to know the sex at the anatomy scan, but i don't think that was noted in my file because if i see a different doctor now for my regular appointments they usually ask me. if it was noted in my chart they would see that.
If it's a boy, you could potentially notice a penis at 18-20 weeks, even if you are untrained. Our tech showed us the vagina, and i had no idea what i was looking at. it depends a lot on the baby's positioning.
