Cramp Relief?

Cross posted from my bmb...

I've been having some nasty cramps. A few have happened in inconvenient places and I've almost doubled over and had to do breathing to manage it. I was in the middle of grocery shopping!

I've been having more mild ones mostly that come and go but are constant at times. I constantly feel like I'm on my period with these cramps!

Even warm baths aren't easing them up.

Anyone got any relief options to share that helped them? Been the story of my life now for a few weeks, and they're becoming more and more obnoxious and becoming stronger at times. Some of them come with some pulsing back ache as well! Double-whammy

Re: Cramp Relief?

  • Have you checked with your doctor?

  • I've already been to l&d for contractions and such, told me to take tylenol for the cramps and was sent home. Tylenol doesn't work for me lol also suggested warm baths, but those aren't working. Just feeling a bit frustrated with these cramps and not having any way to relieve them. They're making it also very hard to get what little sleep I do get
  • I find a heat pack (the kind filled with rice or wheat- not electric) helps a little
  • Ahhh what I wouldn't do for a nice rice bag right now!
  • I used cold for my back.  Did wonders.  I know most people don't think of cold when treating aches and pains as opposed to an injury but your body in under strain with the extra weight.  Worth a look into at least.  The wrap I used has a big rigid gel that is comfortable and manoeuvrable so you are able to treat different areas.  FYI, works great post delivery for any swelling "down there". The gel doesn't move when pressure applied so you can sit on it!

  • This is probably tmi but do yalls cramps feel like bad period/gas pains that make you double over and walk funny and then end up being a poop or almost poop... (Constipated) I feel stupid even asking. I was wondering if that's just the "aftershock" of having an actual contraction.... I'm almost 36 weeks. Like I said TMI, Pregnancy has made me have no shame about the bodies issues!!!
  • I haven't felt any that ended up being bathroom issues. These feel like bad menstrual cramps rather than bowel cramps for me. But I've always felt my menstrual cramps deep in my lower pelvis and bowel cramps higher up in my belly. So might be different for others.

I do know in late pregnancy we deal with a lot of bowel issues, I've been having some myself, but none resulting from the cramps. Prelabour... cleans out your system and it can be a pain. You aren't alone!

But to update, cramps still come and go. Still not much helping them.
