Time to quit

I teach and only have until May 22nd to go. Other teachers at my school have worked right up until delivery and I have ten weeks until my due date- I thought it would be no problem! I know everybody says every pregnancy is different, but it makes me feel like such a wimp. I don't know what to do, I am so tired it's all I can do to drag myself to school, sit alllll day (I've never sat to teach) and then come home to cry and sleep. I can't get anything done at home and don't feel patient with the kids at school. Would you quit?

I'm a teacher too, and I'll be working until the end of the school year (June 12). I feel your pain. I am trying so hard not to seem irritable or negative but it's hard.

I think it's up to you to decide. Im a teacher also. I would rather work up until the end of the year and save my days. But then again, I found that my first pregnancy was tougher than this one. I think if you don't have a little one at home to keep you going, it's easy to crash. Do what your body tells you to do.

I just feel horrible about possibly not finishing the year but even shopping for an hour on the weekend wipes me out for the whole day. I planned on finishing but it I just can't imagine it.

If you need this job for benefits, pay, and a job to return to after baby is born, try to hang in there. I'm not a teacher. I'm a nurse so I'm comparing the patience you need for the kids to the patience I need for the patients and their families. Granted, i haven't had the feeling to quit recently during pregnancy, but have felt compelled to many times prior. Of course, reality sets in and the good days overshadow the bad and then it all seems tolerable again. Maybe call in sick one or two days this week and give yourself a mental day/break and take it from there. You don't want to make any decisions you may regret later. Good luck!

I know how u feel! I feel like a wimp too. I'm a hairdresser and on my feet 50 hours a week. I recent told me boss I am going out on maternity leave four weeks before baby. And she was ok with it but I feel like she was thinkin wow that's early. Why can't she work longer? But I just can't fathom working longer than June 13. It's all I can do to get thru the day. Just think may 22 will be here before u know it!!!

I felt like this with my first bub, and was longing to leave work... Got my wish, had to stop work due to medical reasons and was put on bed rest -
Guess what happened- I was bored and wishing I was allowed to keep working because time was dragging badly.

So this time trying to push past the uncomfortableness and enjoy the distraction that work provides

Go with your gut. This is my fourth pregnancy and they've all been different. You're not a wimp. You need rest.

I went out a week earlier than planned with my first but I also felt like my principal wasn't doing anything when it came to safety concerns I had.

My last day is June 1, with professional development on June 2 and I'm sticking it out. I'm smaller in terms of belly this time around and I think that's helped me. I teach middle school so it's easier for me to be able to sit most of the day if needed.

It's so tough!! I'm literally rolling my comfy computer chair around the room so I can sit while I teach. My level patience is SO low and I feel bad for the kiddos (I teach first grade). I'm going to try to stick it out until June 11 (the end of the year) so that I can use my leave at the beginning of next year.
My OB just put me on extra iron which hopefully will help with my energy level.

I hope I can make it to June 6. I teach 17 Pre-k students and with insomnia and lack of sleep, my patience is not where it normally is. I need to save all of my sick days for early fall, and don't plan to return until October 26. Are you planning to quit teaching altogether or just take an early maternity leave?

I am done with teaching after this! My husband and I decided I would stay home and then eventually figure out a different career. I haven't been happy with teaching but was determined to finish this year. I may have them check my iron next time. I think i've decided to take the rest of my sick days during the middle of the week so that my last three weeks can be short.

I had one of those days this morning. I wanted to leave, go crawl back into bed and cry. I absolutely love what I do, but this pregnancy has worn me out! I sit MOST of the day because I get out of breath so fast! And my hormones are sometimes WAY left field. I have to remind myself that the kids did nothing except be kids, and I have to channel my emotions elsewhere. My last day is also May 22, and I'm determined to make it. Plus, I don't really have the days to take off! LOL So when you kinda have no choice, the decision is a lot easier to make. Ultimately, it's up to you. If you need to stop working, do so. You nor the baby needs that stress.

I am due July 2nd and I am totally uncomfortable all day every day. I am working a freelance job till May 18th but they had mentioned possibly wanting to extend me a bit after that. Not sure if I will do that or not...can't say it's been easy and the hours are longer than I normally work. Commuting to the city and back has not been easy at all and people are such assholes they never offer a seat. If i can afford to end it on the 18th, I will stop. Call me a wimp if you want. I don't think it's wimpy to listen to your mind and body.

I feel your pain. 13 more weeks until this baby, and 6 weeks left of school. I'm just hoping school makes these weeks fly by. I hope you can find a balance! Good luck!

I'm due July 1st. I told my boss I'd work until the end but she doesn't want me to. She's making my last day June 1st.

I work alone so it's probably for the best anyway in case I need to suddenly leave.
